Reliving the party: Valkyrie Profile

Oh God stop please... You're making my wait for Lenneth harder than it already is... :(

Any bets on what game Himuro will praise next week?

Well, I'll put a dollar on it being a PSX RPG, or an Xbox game that people no longer care about.

Yeah, I've been thinking about a VP replay, but I doubt it'll be as good for me the second time. And I've got tons of shit to keep playing.
*resumes Suikoden IV*

Well VP was released in America. So no doubt it'd come out for NA as well. Suikoden I & II on the otherhand are another story... :(

Yeah, I'm probably not the most objective when it comes to Valkyrie Profile.

Either way...play it now, then play it again for PSP.

I've never played the game and it looks beautiful... except for the character portraits, they look like they were drawn by a kid in elementary school. It just looks weird to me, but I'm extremely stoked about getting this game on the PSP.

I played the first disk back in December, and while I had a blast, I have to say that it's pretty overhyped. If you haven't played VP up until this point, and you're holding off for the PSP, please set your expectations a notch or two lower than GAF would have expecting.

The Suikoden collection is coming, so i don't see why not.

valkyrie profile will definitely have to wait.

planning on replaying Suikoden I-III preparing for V.

There's the possibility that Sony just might shoot it down like Growlanser. By then the only chance of release is in a bundle.

And sadly, Working Designs doesn't exist anymore to catch the rebound.

Wow, Sony are jerks. After I saw this thread I thought maybe I should try VP on my PC to see if it runs smoother than on my PS2 (I'm not sure if the scrolling being choppy is intentional or not. Plus the loading isn't that great on the PS2).

So I just tried sticking both discs of the recently released $25 re-release of the Japanese VP and neither disc will read in a PC. They just make clicking noises and freeze the computer. Both work fine in the PS2...wtf...I blame this on Sony.

Again, I say, isn't SCEA blocking most PSX ports? Unless S-E can use some of their clout (if they even have any, at this point) I wouldn't count on VP:L 100% coming here. Europe is possible though, I guess..

SCEA did publish the 32-bit looking Polopocrisis for the PSP, so there's still a good chance for VP.

That's because PoPoLoCrois 1 and 2 were never released here before on PS1. SCEA has a policy against ports and re-releases on the PSP where they must have at least 33% new content (not sure how accurate this number is, but I've heard it many times before). That's why BoF3 and ToE were blocked from coming here. I'm not sure if Lenneth has enough new content to get by.
