I have it today because I rock. but for serious, you all need to check them out. please :(

for an idea of what they sound like, here is their single: http://angrygodofjebus.com/dredgcwoa/BugEyes.mp3

don't listen to bell woods' trolling btw. they sound absolutely nothing like tool.

If you'd like to hear some Tool posers who tour with the likes of Hoobastank and random nu metal bands make some boring music, buy this CD tomorrow. STAT!

This isnt my type of music, so it isnt hugely surprising.. but I've never even heard of Dredg outside of GAF. How do you even pronounce it? Just as if it were dredge?

Wow.They realy went mainsteam with this one.

well they've always made accessible music. El Cielo was as mainstream as this. Aside from their EARLY early stuff, and maybe a bit on Lietmotif, they've always had a mainstream sound to 'em.

El Cielo was much more subtle than this.
Not to knock them, but bands usually soften up a couple of albums into their career, after their labels start nagging them about sales.

I would possibly believe this news if Thursday's new album wasn't scheduled for sometime later this year. :) Dredg is pretty amazing, though, and those making comparisons to bands like Tool are way off the mark. In my experience, there's no one out there I could truly liken them to.

When's the new Tool coming out, Em?

only god knows. from what i've heard they have all, or at least the vast majority, of the new songs written and done, but haven't recorded anything yet.
an 18 minute song is confirmed. i

f i had to guess, i'd say early 2006. but then again, this is fucking Tool we're talking about.
they could post some subtle shit on their website tomorrow with a date, or we can not hear anything new on the album for the next 6 months.

Thank you for posting this. I'd never listened to Dredg until clicking that link. I'd written them off as just another me too Nu-metal band.

This is really great music. :)

Just listened to the single posted above. They definately sound like A Perfect Circle more than Tool and the song was meh. I will pass.

After seeing your choice, thank god you didn't choose DKM... underserving of their music!

how many original members remain in the band? is it even one anymore?

yeah, Ken Casey the founding member, and the lineup changed after there first album, which isn't a big deal at all.

through the years they've added a second guitarist, a bagpiper and so on.

Regardless of lineup, they've always put on a rousing live show.

Also, that's some strange new cover art for the reissue of Goo. . .
