Reno 911 - best comedy cast on TV today

As an entire cast probably Arrested Development and/or CYE top them. But for pure satire these guys take the cake. I think the better actors are the ones they they have to go arrest and visit. Like the plot about Trudie's boyfriend.

I know the show has its fans, and I even used to be a big follower of the State, but I fail to see the appeal of Reno 911. Even when you get passed the idea of a Cops parody, which is extremely weak to begin with, the characters they portray just are not very interesting (or funny). IMHO of course.

She's gone to visit him a few times. Good stuff.

Reno 911 is brilliant. I didn't think the show was going to be anything special when the first advertisements for it aired, but damn if it hasn't become one of my favorite current shows. Great little stories, and great character interaction.

Yeah, I had to do a doubletake. That first shot of him, I was like, "is that...?"

I think I missed the season premiere of the second season, but if I recall they just pretended the cliffhanger from the last season was a dream, right?

Funny show, hopefully there's a third season, although I'd be highly surprised if there weren't.

Yup I forgot which cop was dreaming.

My friend flipped to this show last night and explained to me that he doesn't understand why the show is still on. Apparently, he's watched it a fair share of times and said that it's so un-funny and he keeps watching to see if it ever gets funny. It hasn't for him.

After I saw it last night, I'd have to concur. It's so stupid. I honestly didn't think it had any fans.

It has become my current favorite comedy. The whole comedy central channel is gold, jerry, gold!!
Except for Crank Yankers, Crossballs, The Graham Norton Effect, Trigger Happy TV, I'm With Busey, Kid Notorious, everything involving the Blue Comedy Tour guys, the constant reruns of MadTV, and I'm sure a few others that I've missed that are either airing now or were tried in recent memory.

Crank Yankers - hit and miss to me (more miss now). I know I can't do a whole 30 of it.
Crossballs - good but, it's got a limited run. It's good in spurts kinda like Punkd.
I've reserved a special place in hell for Graham Norton. He is funny on Tough Crowd (when TC is funny) but, not by himself. His show is the bane of CC

I'm with Busey - Pure insanity
Kid Notorious - Funnyish when it hit it HIT. It was too inside Hollywood for me but, when they did stuff with forgien leaders that was always funny.

I don't watch BCT guys or MadTV

There were a bunch of stars imitating the originals.

Wiegel = Sean Young
Dangle = Martin Mull
Jones = Wayne Brady
Johnson = (Tracy Bingham I think)
Williams = (another playmate I can't remember)

I don't remember who played the Garcia and Junior replacements.

That was a cool ending. I loved how they pulled up and one of the replacements said something like, "Orange is a lovely shade of bitch". LOL

Sounds like a lot of Simpsons whiners here.

Yeah, I was a fan of The State. My favorite skit was probably Louie and his balls, or Doug. :lol Reno911 is awesome too, I love it. They're not really changing the cast, are they? I hope not, I think the cast rocks the way it is. Who the hell is gonna replace Dangle? He's the funniest character on the show. And I loved Jonesey's line last night, "First OJ, then Kobe and not Jones-ay." :lol PEACE.

Amazing cast! Abhorrent premise! Terrible jokes!

I really have no idea what people see in this show.....or 90% of Comedy Central's drek.

Lieutenant Jim Dangle: Hey Terry, Sherrifs Department!
Terry : Hey Guys!
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: Heyy.
Terry : Whats goin down?
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: Well, I'll tell ya whats goin down Terry, You know that they've installed a camera right here at this redlight here.
Terry : Oh My god!
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: Yeah, and it takes a picture whenever someone runs a redlight.
Terry : Oh wow that's awesome, It's like the future.
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: It is awesome.
Deputy Travis Junior : So you know why we're here?
Terry : Why was there a fire?
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: You've been chargin' three bucks, you run up when the car is at a red light, and you give a H.J. during the redlight.
Terry : Oh my god, that sounds, that's not something that I would ever do.
Deputy Travis Junior : Except we've got about...
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: We got about 38 photos of you and that's only last night.
Terry : Well, I can see how you would think that, But I sell... oranges.
Deputy Travis Junior : You sell oranges?
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: You sell oranges?
Terry : Mmhm!
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: I'll take some.
Deputy Travis Junior : Yeah, I'd like some too.
Terry : I've sold out, I've sold out of my oranges... I run out and people are like Beep Beep, I go okay, and say you're driving and I just put it in their laps.
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: Well...
Deputy Junior: I dont know about that.
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: Come on Terry.
Terry : I cant, I have to call my girlfriend... listen I don't even know what you're talking about.
[Begins tugging Terry away on his roller skates]
Deputy Travis Junior : We're talking about you giving hand jobs at three bucks a pop at this redlight up here that's what we're talking about.
Terry : Okay okay, a hand job is still a job okay?
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: Come on easy does it, Zanna do it right into the car.
Terry : You Zanna Don't it!
Lieutenant Jim Dangle: Did he just say "Zanna Don't it?"

I love when Swanson is on. He's cracks me up every single time.

" Hey girlfriend "

Brilliant show. I didn't "get it" the first few times I channel-skipped through it, but once I watched an entire episode I fell in love.

The best part of the show for me, besides the hilarious scenarios and improv'd dialogue (I think they improvise at least??) is that the characters on the show are fleshed out in subtle ways. So many goddamn shows spoonfeed things to the audience, but the creators of Reno put in little touches like that last shot of the blonde hiding her feelings for Garcia in the episode where they were banging or the lingering uncomfortable silence between Weigel and her incarcerated boyfriend.
