is it possible to buy a black Gamecube shell? i have taken mine apart to do the LED mod, but i have the purple unit, i would like to switch to black. i don't think it's a big deal to pull the motherboard and drive out, and just switch it into a black casing. anyone done this? where would i look for a black GC casing?

help me out if you have info.

Worst case scenario: you can find a broken black Gamecube and strip it.

Then again the Gamecube is quite durable...

They do make replacement cases for GC but they are modified to hold a normal size DVD. Try a Google search and I'm sure you'll find something. Here's a link to putting in a new LED. http://homepage.usask.ca/~ctm754/projects/gamecubemod/ I put a blue one in my platinum GC.

I remember my friend had his GameCube modded. When he played domestic games, the LED was orange. When he played imports, it was blue. Twas fuckin' slick.

I know that some of the sites that sell all sorts of "upgrades" for illegal activities sell replacement cases for the GameCube. They aren't original cases, mind you, but ones modified to allow the GC to play standard-sized DVDs.
