Replacing PSP's (Gamestop)

I was wondering if anyone knew if Gamestop has starting to replace/exchange defective PSP's? Also on the hardware, is that 24-48 hour pick up policy still in effect? Kind of sucks seeing that there are 14 PSP's at the location I picked my PSP and I still could'nt exchange it because they were reserved.

Most people complain when someone sells something they'd reserved.

;D

It's really manager discretion. Technically the PSP's should be live, and the manager of that store could be in trouble. IMO it depends on if they're paid off or not. Really they should be live now. If I was at that store, I'd call the people who had reserved them and ask if they still intended to pick them up, and if not I'd ask if they wanted to come get the credit and use it for anything else.

I was thinking they would be live as well - just from a replenishment stand point.

Ohh well. I had no screen problems at all (well 1 pixel). The stupid drive door is broken. Arrgh!

Yes, BRIAN is still used.

In our email today they're saying you need 11 dead pixels for a unit to be defective. Under that, we're supposed to repackage it for sale. (We can, however, still take it back.)

Not having a expiration on reserves is a bad idea. We had something like 200+ Dreamcast preorders, yet about half of those picked the system up. The rest of the preorders remained unclaimed for weeks, some for months if not longer.

If you need to exchange your unit, i'd call around to other GSs in the area to see which has them in stock, and tell them you need to exchange yours, and ask if they could hold one for you. If there's none in stock, check your local Walmart, Meiers, Target, etc. and return the GS PSP if one of those has them in stock.

That's a pretty shitty practice, but on the other hand, i'm sure two-thirds of the PSP buying populace wouldn't care about dead pixels.

It is, but I'm sure Sony's forcing GS's hand a bit. I mean, the manual...every time I think of it... "...a few pixels are normal..." ...That's like adopting a child described as normal and adjusted and he's missing a finger... Fuck, he still has the other 9. Good to go.

This has to be one of the worst analogies I've read on GAF.
