Crap, scary stuff. I'd better stay home today; kinda glad we don't live in Jakarta proper.

My friends have been talking about this, too. They"re saying there's been reports of cars & motorcycles carrying bombs and AK-47s and rumors that US brand stores and restaurants may have bombs planted in them. Not sure how true they are, though.

The explosions are happening in many places.

This happened like 5 minutes from where I live. It's chaos over here. Reports of mulitple attacks across the city. Kuningan, cikini, slipi. Not confirmed yet I think.

There's a video where people gathered around the destroyed police box, and the crowds dispersed quickly because they hear shots fired and one man lied there in the middle of the street...

The double standard in coverage here is kind of amazing. If this was going on in a western nation it would be cutting into live programming. In a muslim majority nation, it's just a passing mention.

There's a small article on CNN's site, didn't check the others. As far as TV coverage they rarely cover these things during the overnight hours, unless it's something major happening here in the states or like the Paris attack, although that was carried over from the coverage during the late afternoon/evening hours.

Edit: Fox has live coverage currently running.

You might not want to trust everything that comes out of indonesian news media, they're not really known to fact check I think, there are probably a lot of rumours going around. Hope it doesnt get worse though :/

It's got to be one of the worst ideas humanity has ever come up with... Needing to slaughter people drinking coffee or listening to rock concert because their imaginary friend has political designs for the planet.

Shit infuriates me. They hate to see people enjoying life. Got friends headed to Bali next month and even though it's pretty far from Jakarta I'm really hoping this shit doesn't keep up.

There are 3 new explosion in the past few 10 minutes.

I'm surprised Pakistan is still being bombed.

Haven't kept up with that country's politics, but last time when that school bombing happened, the government went with a scorched-earth policy and obliterated the regions where the terrorists were based.
