I think most people are. Unfortunately the majority of media exists to signal boost extremism for clicks/views. Normal people end up bombarded by nonsense all day every day.

I really don't see things getting better on their own. There's no incentive for the bad actors to do so, and take ownership of the problem. They get positively reinforced for their actions which divide people. As long as that's the case, things will continue to degrade.

Tragically, it's likely going to take something catastrophic to change the state of things as they are now. That's my $.02 anyway; but I'm going off on a tangent that has nothing to do with the topic.

On the other hand, things can turn on a dime in American culture and people get bored of the status quo.

The one constant decade to decade is change, so one way or the other the 2020s are not going to be exactly like the 2010s.

I can imagine people just getting bored with it all and moving on.

They're probably purging everything from the server right now, or investigating hard to confirm what other proof I could have (try harder Resetera, there's a lot of stuff to find on internet : Facebook, deviantart, artstation or... pixiv ?). Or maybe they're just nuking it for all I know. Like they purged Nemesis162 account or when they took down the imgur links (and were dumb enough to admit it...), or when they shot down the conversation on their forums, or when they banned me from everything to prevent me from causing more potential damage. Again, nothing to see, I'm probably hysterical.

When I got kicked and banned from the discord server, they also banned other people (LordKano confirmed it to me) because they suspected them to be leaking stuff outside. Again, probably nothing to see there...

If there was nothing to hide, they would have made the discord server public as fast as they could (before editing/erasing stuff) and would have also made their admin discord server public, just to see if they organized themselves to hide stuff and protect pedo-apologists.

I would say that at some point you may need to release more info if you have it. This isn’t penetrating the firewall the mods have at ERA at all since any mention is wiped immediately and their users are so brainwashed they just chalk it up to all those evil nazis at NeoGAF. I’m sure there are good people there who deserve to know what their leadership is all about.

@Cpt.Hund took a screenshot of the thread. 8chan is getting search warranted for possible involvement in an active shooter situation. They were egging the shooter on, encouraging him to commit mass murder. Reeee is cheering it on, "Burn the place to the ground". Post #50 asks if IP addresses can be admitted in court. I thought it was an odd thing to ask. I am wondering out loud if that poster knows what is going with regards to this situation and maybe is asking the question for his own sake.

I will admit to being a bit oblivious at times. I was in a drug selling gang in High School and didn't know it, I promise that is the truth.

They want it because the IPs would then likely become public record and their doxers can use them to try to find the posters.

It's going to be hard to get IP data from 8chan - IIRC I heard Null say that they purged identifying data regularly while he was a mod/admin. That may have changed when Watkins bought it, though.

There has been some questionable shit here on Gaf. When shit hit the fan I understand why there was radio silence for a bit but no one can say with a straight face that things were swept under the rug and there was at least open dialog about the situation. Remember that case in my country where this guy got 2 weeks the time to deliver his harddrives towards court without any modifications.

People complained about because that was enough time for him to purge stuff obviously, while the judge said he wasn't worried about it.

Guess what the dude did, he purged stuff from it.

Judge gave the drives to a research company, they noticed data changed at x date which was after the paper that got given towards him. Means he was guilty found on all charges. Because he was clearly trying to hide it or else he would have given the drives.

Basically he signed his own confession.

They can purge all they want only makes them look more guilty.

To be fair, when ResetERA spawned, NeoGAF had been around for nearly a decade and a half before that "purge". If ResetERA "purges" after only two years, it does reflect upon them badly and makes them seem more unstable than they already seem to be. They want to drag this out as long as possible until they can't possibly hide it anymore, so they can say "welp, we had a good run. Start it over again, bobby!"

Their morals have always been incredibly flexible

They bully Limited Run Games for working with THQ. They have no problem with Sony, Microsoft... or anyone else doing it. You got that one poster attempting to Marty Mcfly her way into everything THQ related. And they punch anyone there questioning that.

The ones with integrity will leave. 99% will stay.

But it isn't the point of all this. Hopefully what Celine.D.Sykes posted will allow onlookers to question membership there, including parents of minors that monitor their children online behavior.

I never expected mainstream gaming news to cover this. It isn't beneficial to them. Hopefully tho in the future they will have to answer for turning a blind eye not only to the Pedo screens, but to how the site and its members attempted to Bully a Woman who attempted to bring the information to light and silence her.

- Resetera members trying to take down the screen captures in a panic moment.
- LordKano threatening me that one of them might sue me for defamation.
- LordKano trying to shift thing his way and me adressing all of that by releasing more proves.
- ZhugeEx blocking everyone at sight and refusing to make a single comment (probably wanting for me to go sleeping lol).
- Casiopao being busted big time with proof, despite them claiming there wasn't anything wrong with those members.
- Resetera shutting down every discussions about this on their forums.
- The accused members locking down their twitter accounts.
- Them changing pseudos of accused members and purging accounts over Resetera, again with proves.
- Their statement about how I'm just being mad at being banned.
- Them not making the infamous discord public instantly and trying to lock down everything.

I would have never expected them to react this way. That's certainly not how you deal with problems.

For now, I think that's enough. Sure, I could throw everything I have left, but what's the point ? Entertain people ? Causing harm ? I'm not into that. It doesn't matter if everything calm down at some point. It got plenty of attention (more than 110 thousand of views and it's only day 2). I'm glad enough so many people cared, I didn't expect that since people are quick to dismiss how pedophilia (being attracted to children or underage people) is a problem in our current societies.

It was also quite heartwarming to see people from the industry, some journalist, youtubers reach to me to hear more about it or just show their support. I won't name them, but some of them are quite big. Completely unexpected.

I won't spend my lifetime on this, I'm not an internet person. If all of that can force Resetera to become a better place, be more careful around those stuff and not protect people with serious issues, it's all for the better. If that can also teach them a lesson about moral's crusades and how it feels to be at the center of the outrage machine, more power to them.

I just want to affirm your logic. Keeping your cards held close to your chest is how to handle these narcissists, who will follow a particular routine if you are patient.

True story. I went over there initially because that is where everybody else went. I remember talk about how moderation would be improved and how people won’t just get randomly banned.

Never did I imagine that ERA would turn into GAF 1.0 on steroids. It’s insanely toxic over there and anybody who doesn’t fall directly in line with their agenda is an evil racist nazi. What’s even more bizarre is that the people there are convinced that everywhere else (GAF 2.0 and other communities) are all alt-right nazi strongholds and ERA is the only safe reasonable and moral place.

It’s also sad how depressed and suicidal everybody is there. I’ve tried to give reasonable advice that politics, and Trump specifically, isn’t worth making yourself that depressed. Instead of stewing about politics or Trump all day, use some of your time for hobbies, hanging out with friends, learning something new, or countless other things that will be far better for mental health versus sitting around reading about how awful the world is because of Trump. The response? I was called out for my white male privilege and basically told to shut up. That was when I figured the place was lost and it was time to go.

This whole controversy makes me happy I got the hell out of that cesspool.

You guys are probably right, but crazy people aren't the majority of posters at Resetera. They simply condone it and at some point that HAS to blow up. I remember a few months before Resetera was created that you had Evilore posting some "contrarian" stuff in some threads and even banning some people for being fucking crazy. That created tension, which extrapolated once they had an opportunity. Suddenly, GAF wasn't unanimously a friend to the cause. This thing probably creates some tension, maybe not the same because god knows fucking kiddie porn isn't as bad as wrong opinions. It won't be what leads to a blowup, but it's possibly a first step.
