Ok, so I saw this movie for the first time last night and all I can say is WTF?!?! It has effected me on a deep level, it was so bad, and had absolutely NOTHING to do with Resident Evil!!!

The first movie wasn't all bad, it was somewhat interesting and even though it didn't have a whole lot to do with the game it was somewhat tolerable, but this one.... WTF was up with the ending??? I mean the whole movie just seemed totally pointless, every character seemed to be a waste, from the doctor to the little girl, to the dumb foreign guys from stars, all the characters seemed to have no point.

So let me get this straight. Alice's character is the only real point to this series, she has no real point to anything other than that she is an experiment, and she is pissed about this? Jill Valentine seemed to be the only character from the games shown so far in the movies, but she is a lame-o who must have been on an undercover job as a hooker when the whole think started, right? And everyone in the movie is a total dumb-fuck, since every time someone is bit the others act like it is ok, and they wont turn into a zombie??? Did the hick rifleman die??? I'm sure that Capcom doesn't care that Anderson Fucked this series up, and made it have NOTHING to do with RE, other than using a few names from the series, and the fact that there is a "T-virus", but where does this evil come in... Corporate greed???

Well, I had to vent, it was lame, I have never seen a more pointless movie in my life, as bad as Battle Field Earth and Batman and Robin put together, this movie sucked! And it had the MOST HORRIBLE ENDING OF ALL TIME. Did they replace her eyes, or is she a cyborg???

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

A group of friends and I got drunk and saw this in theatres. It was a blast. We probably pissed the people off in the theater, but I like to think we were the entertainment since the movie was so bad. Yea, it was terrible... but knowing its bad makes it a lot more fun.

I downloa...er, rented the DVD last night :)D) and watched it with some friends.

If you take it for sheer entertainment and don't invest too much time into it being an actual coherent, well-put together plot, then it comes off as an excellent movie.

Dummest movie evar!

Also, there's nothing like going to the movie house, paying $10 to get in plus god knows how much for treats, and sitting down with drunkards who think that they're the evening's entertainment.

it actually had quite a lot of stuff pulled right out of resident evil, especially the intro of code veronica and resident evil 3. Still a bad movie though

Maybe it had stuff from RE3 but where was the CV intro stuff??? Last time I play CV, it had a big cool scene with Clair fighting a bunch of guys in a highrise in Europe, getting caught and dumped on an island.

Plus the girl is the one in the RE series who created the virus, no her dad!

I'm a big RE fan, but I just can't bring myself to actually see this movie. The first one was acceptable but this sounds like a complete failure.

The intro. Running from the helicopter. Dropping her gun, and then diving down and grabbing it midair? Come on, I don't even own CV and I recognized that scene.

But it's basically copy/paste of the scene. But since there was no Redfields in this movie, they gave it to Alice.

Am I the only one that thinks the first movie would've been awsome if they just kept it the way the game put it? Trapped in a mansion, can't get out, finding monsters and traps and slowly discovering that Wesker is behind it all?

Sometimes I wonder that myself about game->film adaptations. What is so strange about the game's plot that makes it unmarketable?

I know... lets look at some of the movie based games that they just changed like mad.

Mario Bros - Okay, I can see why they had to change things around. This game isn't directly translateable to a movie. But why did they make it so dark and brooding? Why are bo-bombs 2 inches tall? Why do goombas have big bodies and little heads and green, while game goombas have little bodies, big heads, and are brown? Why does Luigi get the girl? And why is Bowser human? What the hell is going on?

Double Dragon - Okay... what the hell? The game is about Billy and Jimmy attacking a gang that kidnapped their girl because of reasons that could mean anything. Okay it's simple, I can see why they'd need to spin it up. But what the HELL? Big mutated monster people? Crystal/Medalian power? And Billy and Jimmy don't beat the living shit out of each other to see who gets the girl? Come on!

Street Fighter - What... the...fuck.... I'm not even gonna TRY to explain. Nothing to do with any kind of tournament. Charlie is Blanka? Guile is the hero? The only character in the movie that acted what you'd think the game character would act was Zangief. Only good part of the movie:

Dee Jay - "I'm outta here, I'm not getting paid enough for this!"
Zangief - "You got... paid?!?"

Mortal Kombat - Though not straight game -> movie, at least it kept the feeling of the game alive. Supernatural fight scenes, just as cheesy as the game, and the characters felt like what you'd think they would be from the game (except Raiden, who's actually 100x cooler in the movie).

Mortal Kombat 2 - This one isn't so much not following the movies, but not following anything coherent. It's like simulating being on PCP.

Resident Evil - There isn't one character in the movie that's in the game. It's like they just used the idea of a virus from the game and that's it... I don't get it. The game is made to simulate a horror movie... yet the horror movie based on the game doesn't resemble it at all? Does that make sense?

All I really wanted was to see someone mix a red and green herb together and they couldn't even deliver that.

I saw RE:A last night and I think I actually enjoyed it. Witt is a better director than Anderson when picking and choosing shots as well as putting sequences together. You could tell the guy is Ridley Scott's cameraman.

Some of the movie had some really great jumps/shocks such as the van being taken out near the beginning.

The movie fell into a huge repetition fest though. You see a character sitting with their back to you and you just KNOW they are going to be a zombie. Lots of scenes of people about to go down and then someone busts into the room and saves them. Even more scenes of the "I think we're ok." variety and then a thing comes from offscreen and grabs them.

I really don't understand why they wanted the STARS members killed though. I don't think there was any explanation. If you want to test out the Nemesis drop him in a horde of zombies and let him go to work, don't kill your own guys.

The last 20 minutes was pretty pointless. All that happens is that the movie is sidetracked and pretty well ends up where it started those 20 minutes ago.

I did appreciate the RE:CV homage but the original scene is more creatively staged and more stylishly shot. They flipped the direction of the action on purpose just to be different.

Anyway, not the worst movie i've ever seen and at very least it was pretty coherent. My worst movie of all time still remains Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

I'd give it RE:A - 6/10.

Yeah, I just watched it this weekend as well. It sucked. And while it has some very small elements from the games in it, overall it has absolutely nothing to do with anything. I like at how various points the zombies just disappeared. It's almost as bad as Anderson's other fuck up, AVP. Or maybe it is that bad.

I saw this movie with a friend on New Year's Eve. He said that is was cheesy but, "I have to admit, it was pretty cool."

In his defense we were krunked.

I laughed so hard in the theater when Alice comes flying through that church window on the motorcykle... haha :lol

Awful! Jill is hot though :)

I thought it was average. Better than the first by a little bit.

I thought it was a pretty crap, yet still fairly entertaining film. For some reason, I preferred it to the original film, and will probably pick up the DVD when it appears in a bargain bin somewhere.

The RE movies excel at insulting ones intelligence to extremes never thought possible yet still be entertaining to a certain extent, and if youre willing to. And damn Sienna Guillory(sp?) is hot as shit in this as Jill....

Every time the nemesis was on screen, I busted a gut laughing. I swear I could see the zipper on his costume :lol

MK:A was better than the original for the sole reason that the fight scenes were craploads better. I watch a martial arts movie to see good fight scenes, not for good acting or a passable plot. The only good fight scene was Reptile in the original. Scorpion was decent. Everything else sucked.

I actually found it entertaining. No, it doesn't have a whole lot to do with the game, but it's not supposed to. Making a movie about skulking around a house for 2 hours killing zombies would be boring. Check out the interview with Anderson on the new RE special edition DVD. He seem's like a pretty big RE fan and explains alot about why he choose to write the movies the way he did.

Anyways, no big name director in Hollywood is gonna touch a movie based off a video game. The RE movies are about as good as you're gonna get. I'm a huge RE fan and just watch the movies for what they are - mindless action films that pay homage to the video game series.

House of the dead is BY FAR the dumbest.

I kinda liked the first RE movie in a guilty pleasure sort of way. Apocalypse, however, is utterly worthless garbage. Only movie I saw last year that had me leaving the theater before it was over.

I liked this movie. Maybe I sat down to watch it without any expectations or maybe I'm just used to video game movies being pretty weak. But I found this movie plenty entertaining. I also thought they did a really good job at bringing in characters and visuals from the games.

Some of you people need to relax a bit. So negative.
