Not surprising. Such is life, the PS2 version is available on modern consoles and that's good enough for me.

CVX is easily one of the most underrated titles in the series and in terms of classic RE gameplay, the game is a complete juggernaut. Story is dumb as shit but gameplay-wise, it's near perfect for what it sets out to be. OST is top-tier as well and the PS2 emulator on PS4/PS5 do the visuals justice. Not for the faint of heart though, your first playthrough might have you rage quitting more than once :messenger_grinning_sweat:.

I mean the story being touched up and improved to REmake 2 standards would be nice, it does stand out as a bit too campy

It's not even under rated. It's one of the highest rated games in the series. The only RE game rated higher is original RE4. Not even REmakes ratings beat it out.

Not remaking it is kind of BS. It's not my favorite (despite the ratings) admittedly, but I would have liked to see them clean it up a bit.

Oh well. Hopefully, after RE4, the 2/4make team moves on to make a new third person entry in present day. I could see these guys giving us new more action/horror focused with older characters like Leon and Chris while the mainline games stay horrror.

I mean the reality is this game among all others would have been the least played of the "mainstream" RE games.

The year or so of exclusivity to the Dreamcast and this not being a numbered game really hurt it.

Yea, but that was when it released on DC. When it released as CVX, word of mouth amongst gamers was kind of down on it. Especially when you factor in the DMC demo it was bundled with. DMC made CVX look/feel archaic as can be.

It's mostly splitting hairs though, underrated/overlooked, it is what it is. I just wish more people would try it out on the platforms it's available for. Getting past the spikes in difficulty and becoming more efficient on subsequent playthroughs is so insanely satisfying.

The villian was trans. No shit they ain't remaking that or atleast not without big changes.
He was? I remember the crossdressing because of his infatuation with his sister, but I never thought much else about it. EDIT: Darn, I think I messed up my username. :(

That person who wrote the article on video game chronicles is not well informed at all. Resident Evil Code Veronica takes place after RE 2 and 3. Not between them. They also mention this being the last mainline game before going into the more action oriented genre (Resident Evil 4) which again is false as Capcom released Resident Evil 0. That's the last game were the old formula was ditched.

I wonder what's next after RE4 Remake, 5 and 6 aren't that old and they're not that liked, remaking 1 again would be kinda dumb, rest of the games are less popular.

The Gamecube Remake remaked as in chapter 2 Remake would be glorious.

A full 3d remake of REmake would be cool. Actually, i would love to play that. Lisa Trevor, and Crimson Heads, and everything.

I could see both RE1 RE Remake AND Code Veronica Remake being next for CAPCOM, they could even work on them simultaneously since they could share some asset, obviously character models like Chris, Wesker, ennemies too like hunters, spiders (zombies duh) but more importantly : the spencer mansion does have a replica in CV too.

RE1 Re-Remake would be nice
That's what I'm saying.

Resident Evil REmake came out 20 years ago, and even then, it plays like the OG RE for the most part. I'd LOVE to see Resident Evil redone with the over the shoulder mechanics. Would also be cool to add even more content to it.

Honestly, I'd love to see that more so than Code Veronica. Cause then we'd at least get 1-4 redone in a similar format.

I really want the following to be the same style as resident evil 2 remake =

Resident evil 1

Resident evil code Veronica

Resident evil 5

Resident evil zero

I would like to say the same about 6 but I have absolutely no idea what happens in it as I can't play it for more than a few minutes as it's absolutely awful so it would need a complete overhaul.

Plus a nemesis edition of resident evil 3 remake.

I'd take a new remake with pre rendered backgrounds again just to see how photorealistic we can go

I'm pretty bummed by this. Not because I think Code Veronica is some masterpiece, but because it could use the remake treatment to make it a better game. I had a feeling they'd skip over it though, because it doesn't have a number on it. It's not as marketable as using a numbered title to make it sound like a mainline game. RESIDENT EVIL 2, or RESIDENT EVIL 3, and now RESIDENT EVIL 4. So much easier to market, and get people to know what it is. Some people would look at this game and say "Code Veronica? What's that? probably a stupid spin off", even though it should have just been called Resident Evil 4 when it came out. It's just as important to the series story as any of the other ones, and probably even more important than Resident Evil 3 which felt like a spin off when it came out on PS1. Resident Evil 4 remake will be cool, but I didn't need that remade until they after Code Veronica got made. Now I feel like the chances of it happening are lessened because they basically skipped it in the remake order.

So what happens when they run out of these remakes.
Do we get games based on Movies? I mean the Anderson movies of course - the only true canon of RECU.
