Resident Evil Requiem Leaks Round-Up

IbizaPocholo

NeoGAFs Kent Brockman

Here's What We Know So Far:
Per Dusk Golem:

-Grace is Spencer's daughter. Alyssa was forced to adopt her by Spencer in exchange for an interview and important info.

-Spencer has been manipulating the events of RERequiem as a final plan after his death.

Got some updates and clarity on Grace and Spencer.

On Grace Being Spencer's "Daughter" and Spencer's Final Plan

-(Per Dusk Golem): "Spencer's protoge, so here's vaguely how this works from how I understand it. Grace is actually not related to any past character by blood, but she was as a young kid used by Spencer in experiments in ARK, which ARK is a hidden facility that was underneath the orphanage in RE:2. She was a random kid taken from the orphanage from RE:2 for the ARK underneath it, with the goal to create Elpis. Victor and the Connections all think Elpis is some great final virus, but it's actually Spencer's failsafe. Elpis is an anti-viral agent that eradicates all progenitor based viruses. Victor and the Connections think it's the ultimate virus, but it's an anti-virus Spencer made. We'll get more into it and why the children were important in the game.

Spencer did an interview after some period of time after Raccoon City, he predicted how things would go with Umbrella's downfall, with the Connections of the peers who betrayed him stealing his life long work, and that they'd want Elpis. To spread the false story of what Elpis was, and he was fond of Grace as a child. But he knew he was too evil to have this sort of attachment, and his plans wouldn't work anyway if Grace was in his custody, so he entrusted Grace to Alyssa (see more on why as a whole other tangent for that one), and he revealed everything to Alyssa when he agreed to do an interview with her. He both selfishly didn't want anyone to have what he views is his, rather it all go down with him, but also he did care for Grace, though he knew she needed better than him. Kinda' similar to Spencer dismissing his lifelong servant before he died by Wesker actually. With the optimal path being that one day things could be resolved peacefully with Grace and Alyssa, but he predicted the Connections would be after Grace as long as they knew about her, and she was the key to taking down the Connections if they ever tried, thinking she housed a great virus, but it's actually a great cure.

Victor is working for The Connections btw I should mention.

Emily btw is a clone of Grace made by the Connections who tried to "make their own Grace", but failed because they "didn't have Elpis," is what they believe."

-Victor's boss is actually Zeno - A CLONE OF ALBERT WESKER. He has his own personality and in a funny twist of fate, he has his own narcissism that forces him to prove he's better than the OG Wesker.

-Victor kills Zeno some time in the game. Victor really is the true villain of RE9.

-There are multiple endings.

UPDATE: Dusk just revealed Leon dies in the bad ending and he gets Jill'd in the good. He gets cured of his infection and becomes younger. Not joking...

UPDATE 2: DEAR GOD ITS REAL. FOOTAGE JUST LEAKED OF YOUNGER LEON -

Then here's the other crazy returns...

-MR. X is back!

-HUNK returns and fights Leon in a boss battle. Leon apparently kills him.

-NEMESIS returns too! He's the final boss if you go for the good ending.

-UPDATE: So Nemesis's body isn't in the game. What happens is Victor injects himself with the Nemesis parasite that transforms himself in Nemesis's final mutation. Leon says to Victor: "A Nemesis. No wonder you´re so damn relentless."

-A GIANT SPIDER similar to Resident Evil 1 is a boss battle for Grace!

Who's Not in the Game:

-No Jill, Claire, or Ada...

Zeno's model:

Sherry's Model:

HUNK:

GIANT SPIDER:

MR. X:

NEMESIS:

Dear god Capcom went full WTF with this game lol.

The Final Cutscene was leaked::

-Doesn't seem like Leon's retiring and Sherry may get de-aged now too. Chris was helping Leon behind the scenes.

Bad Ending:

Bad Ending just got posted. It's def non-canon. Leon gives Grace a chance to escape from Zeno, gets destroyed, and then Zeno blows his head off. It's like an extended bad ending if Jill doesn't shoot Nikolai in time in RE3 Remake.

I still hope, that's not actually Hunk who gets rekt. I can't get over that.

BTW, I know all of this and even more, BUT I didn't actually watch any videos.
Knowing everything and experiencing it for yourself the first time is an awesome ride. I would recommend everyone doing the same. Spoilers help to set my expectations, so I can concentrate on the game itself, instead surprises that won't be there.

According to Capcom, players should not be sharing such footage online before release and it will be taking steps to remove it and issue warnings where possible.

"We have identified numerous gameplay videos of Resident Evil Requiem that appear to have been obtained through unauthorized means," the statement reads (via machine translation).

"For the sake of customers who are looking forward to this title, we ask that you refrain from publishing or posting gameplay videos on video streaming services or social media before the game's release date.

"Posting gameplay footage before the game's release not only infringes on copyright but also upsets other players. We are taking firm action, including removal and warnings, as these videos are discovered. We also ask everyone viewing this post to please refrain from watching or sharing any such videos if you come across them.

"Through this title, we aim to deliver a 'story where mystery and tension intertwine' and a 'thrilling gaming experience challenging unknown threats'. We would greatly appreciate your cooperation in helping preserve the experience for others. Thank you for your understanding."

This game is full of Code Veronica and RE1 asset flips btw. Remakes for both are happening, I used to be opposed to it but fuck it. 1-6 are in a different timeline of the new games from 7 onward and I refuse to believe otherwise.

That's a lot of fanservice.

Does anyone have a pic of Sherry? The one in the OP was deleted.

It's approximately twice as long as it should be.
You go through the same map two times - in 1st person inching along with Grace and in 3rd person running with Leon.
Not exactly. Unfortunately the game takes approximately around 10 hours to complete the game. 1 guy needed 12, another 9 hours.

I watched footage of the spider fight, personally while I hate them irl I don't have an issue with them in games really.
If you do tho then damn lmao.
Good luck.

Tks, if you have more videos, please post here

Here's two more altho prob avoid them if there's something specific you don't want to get spoiled because I dunno what all of them are.

I had a bunch of others too but they got taken down these are the only two still up.

Edit: One of them involved a motorcycle chase and joust with Victor which was pretty funny lol, sad that one got taken down.

Guys, can't you post these in spoilers still? Some of us read the leaks, but want to experience everything else with our eyes.

Jumpscare lmao, unfortunately I didn't save the video and can't find it anymore.
Looked like a pretty solid boss fight tho.

Edit: Nvm found it

Not a fan of these huge hit boxes for grabs... the director did the same thing on Revelations and RE7.

I mean Capcom likes money and saw how the average white boy gamer took Joel dying so.... Yes.
You might wanna thank Japanese broads in the office for Capcom turning Leon into a seemingly undying version of someone taken straight out of one of their smut books.

Also, Joel's death was racially harmonizing. Do we want world peace? Nah, fuck all that. But did we want something more from the sequel to The Last of Us other than the turd we were given? Yes. Then the non-gaming audience joined the chorus 5 years later. No shock there.

I already thought the game looked fan fic levels mediocre. Not surprised the story does too.

Geniunely disappointed. I'll still play and enjoy it but so far it's looking like this one will sit comfortably next to RE6 for me in terms of quality.

People who saw the whole leak cope with the fact that this is only half re6 worst case because of Grace's segments lol.

I like re6 for what it is, playing it from time to time on the switch.

I kinda wished they would have a seperate team for old school re games like re1 and 0, but that's niche unfortunately. With today's tech you could produce awesome shit, just imagine re2 and 3 in the same vain like re1 and 0.

These people seriously are braindead over there lol. Arguing about fictional characters, yet have no problem with Leo plumbing women 20-30 years younger than himself.

This is about leon and Alex by the way.

On paper you would think it's a best of both worlds scenario but I play each of the clusters of RE games (og, 3rd person, 1st person) when I crave that specific kind of gameplay only. Having multiple styles in one game seems like a slog for me, similarly to how I'm speedrunning through RE4R as we speak and I'm already dreading the ashley section that's about to come up.

I consider it one of the worst but I still sorta like it too and it gave me some of the funniest fucking co-op moments I've ever had in gaming ever lol.

I don't get the RE6 vibes myself like at all. Just seems like RE4 and only being a half assed nostalgia trip with asset flips but too lazy to go full nostalgia wank and for that I'm grateful.

There's plenty of stupid retcons and nonsense ideas that make it incredibly appealing and charming instead of RE6.

Capcpom keeps telling me I'm an idiot for liking OG RE2 and RE3 over the modernized version. I don't think Classic RE is ever coming back except in Indie games like Crow Country and Signalis.

I think in the long term fans will wish that Grace and Leon had separate campaigns.

I am hoping though that Insanity difficulty is a proper randomizer playthrough but I think modding scene will do a much better job at that.

Werewolf Jones Werewolf Jones Leon gameplay is literally RE4R and RE6 hybrid. Contextual killing moves and the melee focus with the Axe don't leave any room for doubt. Just need to see if you can slide and fallbackwards into prone crawl position for the peak RE6 experience.

Yeah that's my problem with this game now. I hope this Grace's segments don't play like a slog, at least I hope they release a mode to seperate them or skip.

I mean putting Vanquish slides into this game since it's less narrow corridors would make sense but Capcom aren't smart. The axe just looks like an evolution of the knife to me.

It's basically NG+. Wouldn't surprise me if Grace upgrades carry over too. When you reflect on it each playthrough you unlock more stuff or start out stronger to prep you for the hardest difficulty.

I honestly dunno why people have such issues with the story, the story has always been very dumb in RE games the camp is part of the fun imo.
I'd probably say that RE2R and 3 were uncharacteristically non-campy for RE.
And in Village you've got straight up halloween monsters with Werewolves etc too.

In the end of the day it's all a bunch of excuses to have spooky monsters/ zombies and weird mansions full of nonsensical traps.
It's sorta like with fighting games imo the moment you try and take them seriously it kinda just falls apart they're at their best when they go full camp and just focus on spectacle.
Because ultimately they're just a bunch of excuses for people to get into fist fights with each other, you can't really write a story around that especially a continuous one that makes sense.

People won't be ready for the Code Veronica remake if it ever happens because the campiness in that game is amazing. Saturday Morning Cartoon interaction level.

The Remakes I think try to be serious and I'm rather glad that RE9 has that smug Leon campiness he was and is adored for in OG RE4.

That's the sad reality unfortunately, but no matter what these morons say, re2 and 3 are true quality in comparison with the demakes.

Still can't get over the botched re2r a/b scenarios and re3 decision mechanics.
