all i have to say is WOW! I just got back from seeing prince and WOW, what a great show. the dude is an awesome performer and his band was amazing. really played the crowd well, and play all the songs people wanted to hear (accept for 1999 and Diamond and Pearls)

I'm glad i went.

Musicology is his best album in years. Or at least, the only one I bothered to listen to...

You didn't miss much. You're right; it is his best album in years.

That said, my favorite Prince era is around Sign 'O the Times and Lovesexy. For me, he could do no wrong back then...

Same here...

I love my Hits A & B CD.... but my favorite albums are all his late 80's early 90's stuff. Before he hit the website... I hear he released some really... different types of music(lots of experimentation I guess) via the site.

Yep, that's what I'm talking about. I had a bootleg of The Black Album back then and played it to death. I've seen him 3 or 4 times, in concert, but my favorite is still the Lovesexy tour.

The Hits A & B is good, but you have to get the 3 CD version with all the b-sides. There are some seriously great songs there that need to be heard: She's Always in My Hair, Shockadelica, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?, 17 Days.... all of 'em, really. My only gripe (and it's a big one), is that they're the edited versions. The full versions of some of the songs are FAR superior to these edits.

Back when I was seriously looking for it I could never track down the limited edition 3 CD version. I suppose it's probably easier to find these days, I'll have to scribble a note in my PDA to look for it.

I never understood why they billed it as a "limited edition". It's obviously not. But it's not the first time that's been done, and it won't be the last (U2's Hits & B-sides "limited edition"?)

You can get it pretty easily. Amazon has it if you want to order it online. I've seen it around at various B&M stores as well.

Well when it first came out it was. It was only sold briefly then all you could get was the A/B version. OF course it's been years now so...

Shit yeah! I was blown away by his show in Philly. He really is an amazing performer and holy fuck his band is TIGHT. I especially loved when he rocked the off the cuff acoustic set.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.

The previous one, Rainbow Children, was incredible musicaly... but the religious lyrical content might bog down your enjoyment.

STOP TAUNTING ME!!

Hey, I'm in the same boat. My Dad has called me three times this morning already at work rubbing it in my face. Doesn't help that all the IT guys around me went, so I've been listening to them talk about it non-stop since I got here at 7:15.
