I too want to see what Retro can do outside of metroid. Given the sub-par sales of Echoes I'm guessing there is a decent chance of a non-metroid game.

If Retro presents Nintendo an idea they like that isn't Metroid, Nintendo would likely publish. The idea that Nintendo stiffles creativity or forces subsidiaries to release sequel after sequel is hogwash.
