Revolution branding is gone

September 15, 2005 - With new pictures of Nintendo's Revolution console and controller hitting on Thursday evening, some new truths became apparent. The first is that Nintendo seems to be leaning toward at the very least launching its next-generation console in the colors black and white. While it chose E3 2005 to blow out the machine in the color black, all recently released pics of the system show it in glossy white. It looks like an Apple designed product, to be sure, which has to make the Big N happy since Apple designs are always top notch.

The second immediately identifiable revelation is that Nintendo's codename for the console, Revolution, appears to be on the out. While the company used the branding on its platform at E3 2005, all mentions of Revolution have been removed from the latest pictures of the system.

Seems like Nintendo is ready to unveil the official name soon.

Maybe they will revive the Family Computer brand seeing as how the Revolution might truly be open enough as a platform for the entire family.

They should just out do the PS3 and 360,
and call it the "Nintendo Infinity." :lol

Cause it has infinite possibilities.

I'd honestly prefer it to be called N5, as in Nintendo 5, their fifth console. Reinforce the history and tradition of Nintendo as a console maker as well as the fact that you can play old games on it. That and N5 is just catchy, plus 5 > 3 so N5 > PS3, 4 the WIN!

360 is a bunk term, everyone will see through that. But N5 with gyrowhatevermajig controller/remote? Thats gaming bling bling right there.

they wont give it a name. it'll just be the "Nintendo"

if that doesn't happen, the Nintendo V or Nintendo 5.

I agree. Something like the Famicom 3 would be very appropriate, and put it on the same "level" consciously as the PS3. And 360, for that matter. The Famicom name would be a small step toward gaining new sales, and hopefully Nintendo's learned this from the Famicom Mini.

They should probably take the word "Nintendo" out of the title all together to bring in the people who have been put off by Nintendo as a 'kiddy' console in the recent years.

Hell no! Fuck the people who think Nintendo is kiddy. If there are mature games on Nintendo's console, people will play it. That's the only thing that really has an effect here, games, not the brand. If people dismiss the Revolution before even looking at the games available, fuck 'em.

Ah nintendo fans, will the damage control ever cease? I suppose thats the only game Nintendo gives you to play.

You woudn't buy a Nintendo console if it had the power of a fighter plane.

Just turn in your copy of VF4 and cancel your Wow account, Revolution is the way to play next gen games. No more, no less...

How about "Zee Nintendo TRIFORCE"

I mean, it has the 3 imagery in it and all...

Guys?

Anyone still there?

...

Okay. I'll go away now.

(Yes, I know the name has been used)
