Revolution=Nintendo RS??? (WTF??)

DSCN1038.jpg

One last thing. Do normal recordable CDs or DVDs come with those holographics codes on the inner ring? I have a 100pk of DVD+Rs that don't have that, and none of my CDRs or CDRW's (Memorex, Imation, Verbatim, and generic brands) have those codes. Only licensed products seem to have those. :? I know you should be in the know Jonnyram, but I don't know what the hell kind of disc this guy would have used to create this hoax. You can't print those holographic codes, no normal printer does that. And AFAIK, no CD label goes to the inner-ring. You can see it in the pic above. The only things I have that have those codes are music CDs and licensed software. Dare I say, this is starting to look like the real thing to me. Besides, going with a soon to be defunct, high-density format would be a nice anti-piracy measure...no? PEACE.

As pointed out earlier, There are compression artifacts on the 'Nintendo RS' font. It's fake, but a pretty damned good one.

this was printed on the bottom of a cdr. The black numbers on the ring are backwards - the same as the cdr's sitting in front of me. The holographic ring you are talking about is also present on the cdr's, as well as the cd-rw's. Also, there are clear labels you can put onto cdr's, I got two of them as a sample with a package of labels I bought a few years ago.

Yeah it's a fake, although the faker shows some imagination, as shown by the RS name and the overlapping screens.

bune duggy: Ah, thanks for that. I don't have those holographic codes on any discs I have, and I have a few hundred of these things sitting around, and absolutely none of them have that. Believe me, I just looked. :lol I found it really wierd. The black text is there, but I didn't think anything of it since this would be a recordable disc for devs (if it was real). Are those clear labels printable (that doesn't look hand-drawn to me)? And could you confirm that you get the same refraction effect when applied to a disc? In some of the pics, it looks like the refraction's coming off the data layer, which wouldn't seem to make sense with two different materials being layered. This is easily the most impressive fake I've seen. Props to buddy, he had me convinced. PEACE.

What the hell people. How can anyone with half a brian believe for a second that those pics are real?

Why not? Except for the one pic, it's impossible to photoshop. It's a physical mockup, and a damn good one at that IMO. Then again, I wasn't aware there were transparent, printable labels. That pretty much took all the guesswork out of it. Normally, anytime you layer different transparent materials, you end up with optical effects like I posted. But this one seems to have been pretty much squashed at this point. Meh. Would have been nice though. I could congratulate Nintendo for choosing a format that's not just progressive, but also hard to pirate (seeing as HD-DVD should be dying). PEACE.

You don't even need transparent labels. A lot of household printers available now print directly onto the disc's surface. You put the disc on a tray and slot it in under the ink heads. My home printer has this feature too.

I think the greasy nerd holding the disc -- not to mention its beaten condition -- should be 100% confirmation it's fake. If it were Iwata or Shiggy, that'd be another story.

...and man, people really do have too much time on their hands.

A terrifying glimpse of your lonely and crumpled unmade bed Mr Heat. One has to wonder how many angry wanks it has seen. Today.
:)

Okay if he faked it

Why has he double loop the o's again?
He'd know that was a DS related thing with the Dual screen, so why do it again??

Because he's stupid, that's why. That's why everybody does everything.

If for a minute we imagine it's real, the Double o's could easily have something to do with a screen being on the controller as many of you have speculated in other threads.
keeping a daul screen logo in use.

Troidal, did you ever pretend that you were some superhero when you were a kid? Did you ever mess around with a video camera, taping whatever you felt like taping? How would you feel if some jerks decide to take the recording (without your consent) and post it on the Internet, and thus turn you into a laughing stock? The Star Wars Kid is in a child psychiatric ward now.

The Star Wars kid resonated with the internet because EVERYONE has waved some shit around and pretended they were Jedi at some point in their childhood.

...But most of us are smart enough not to videotape ourselves doing that. I mean he was old enough to A) know he looked REALLY silly and B) know that if anybody else saw the tape they'd laugh at him constantly. Poor guy...I feel sorry for him but he did bring it upon himself.

You didn't laugh when you saw that video?

I did laugh; I laughed in the same way that I would laugh embarassingly at videos parents tape of my childhood and show to relatives years later.

I have no problems with people laughing because the kid brought out their inner child or made them recall similar memories. I have problems with people labelling him a dork because he was unfortunate enough to have jackasses for peers who posted the video on the Internet for the sole purpose of making fun of him.

Yeah well I didn't laugh at him for being a jackass. I laughed because i saw his beauty and innocence and his pure soul. I think I actually saw god in his face when he looked into the camera... :lol

His parents sued his friends family's for 160.000 dollars. I think that's the reason he "needed" psychiatric care.
