Because when he does retire he tells the NFL of his final answer we are talking about what happened before that point

I too heard Ricky told the Dolphins that he was thinking about retiring.


I also read that the NBA and David Stern called Jordan during the 93 finals into meetings to discuss his prolific gambling.
