A lot of complaints can be done about it and basically they would be related to the fact that RR6 seems a low budget project in comparisson to what it would have been if it has been for PS3 (not just for the platfform but also because the ammount of time available). But the FACT is that I am sure that the game will be fun as hell and no RR fan would be dissapointed from a gameplay point of view. However that HOLLY FUCK I pronounced when RRV captures appeared is now gone...perhaps because I expected a lot more in the graphics department.

with a bit more bloom lighting, better shadows and maybe DOF, this would quite easily match some of the RR cg sequences we all know and love.

looks great and should be fun. lets get some music samples, k namco?

Looking at these shots gives me an impression that top Japenese developers still (generally speaking) have better taste in art as well as cleaner graphics. I'm comparing Namco, Konami (MGS4) to Rare and other western devs (minus Epic)

Actually, I plan to coincide the comeback of FX with the release of Ridge Racer 6 with a review as well...

Whippin Sean will set the record straight once and for all with just 1 day of gameplay so he can put the review up the day after launch ;)

I only need a day to find out of it is a true Ridge Racer game/sequel... but all early signs are pointing to YES anyways...

I don't get Namco. If they have all this content complete already, why do they keep showing off a lame ass demo with 1 car and 1 track in time attack mode?

Why didn't they show off the real game at TGS and X05 and blow everyone away?

Might have been a buggy built. I mean do you really want to show off a game that crashes, slowsdown and has crazzy batshit glitches? They probably made the TGS demo in a couple of weeks, tested it and made sure it had no bugs.

you do know this started as a ps3 project right? thats why it just seemingly came out of nowhere close to complete.

Well wouldn't that still be kind of funny seeing as PS3 hardware itself isn't even finished? They still would have had more time to work on it since PS3 doesn't come out until next year unlike X360.

I played the first Ridge Racer to death when the Playstation first dropped... and that shit had what, 1 track with a couple different variations. Revolution wasnt nearly as much fun.. but then Rage Racer happened and I was in heaven. Never played RR4 or RRV though, not sure why.

Im sure I will wind up with this game.

I want a SEGA COMPILATION ARCADE RACER DISC SET for X360 , with LIVE ONLINE, and PIXEL PERFECT original graphics code with no enhancements ( I want the f'n coin noise when I I select the game)

You know the whole Namco/PS Sega/SS arcade/console rivalry that went on ? Where Namco like copied Sega a great deal of the time? That rivalry is probably still there, but it just seems that Sega doesn't exactly provide ALL the home titles lately, certain ones. Namco has a good track record of seemingly giving us nearly all of their arcade hits home. am i wrong?



Harborline: Looks like a great update of classic ridge racer city.

Southbay docks: looks industrial, like in OR2. Its got a big boat in there! hmmmm

Highland Cliffs: looks like a nice CloudyHighland kind of stage!

Surfside Resort: Looks like a great sort of Cape Way course + palm trees!

CrossbayTunnel: nighttime, this looks rocking! I see a lighted ferris wheel that hopefully turns, and fireworks exploding, and also spotlights which I hope are moving around !!! I absolutely LOVE tracks with nighttime lighting and all kinds of ambient style in the art! Things looks good at day/dusk/dawn, but nighttime I think just has a whole other feel that brings detail that is cool. Reminds me of my dreams of Scudrace Beg Night/OR2 Metropolis/OR2 Casino Town!!! Rock on!

:jawdrop: @ the T-rex!! Wild! I hope he like walks around and chomps his mouth while you drive by! If so, he may be in contention with Daytona2's red alien monster! Throw roller coasters in there Namco! Rockin!

Since PSP RR had waterfalls, helicopters, birds, airplanes, I do sincerely hope that Namco plans to put these and more imaginative animations while we race! (waterfalls confirmed, so rock on!)

Give me waterfalls and I am a happy man!! yay!

I am glad to see Namco is bringing us this wonderful RR6, I hope that Sega will answer the call and bring us next gen Daytona3, Scudrace2, or other racing arcade title.
 
sega is dead in my eyes as far as racing games go. they havent made a solid racing game since the model 2/3 days. i mean outrun 2 and fzero gx are good and all but we've had 7 ridge racers now to their 2 daytonas. WTF?

Sega Rally 2006 is suppose to be good stuff. And it has really good DFP support.
 
without the masterful leap in art and graphics that sega is known for rally 2006 is just a shell of its former self. i'm pretty sure thats why they aren't flat out calling it sega rally 3. I still remember the textures in the rainy canyon sections of sega rally 2. on dreamcast even. my god.
