It weas announced for Saturn (along with Cybersled and Starblade) but Namco killed their Saturn R&D early on. Similarly Ace Driver and Rave Racer were announced for N64 early on.

I think it looks fucking glorious. My hats off to MS for snagging this.
It's no megaton (there, I said it :D) for 360 considering the Japanese will probably still ignore it, causing Namco to produce an upgraded PS3 version (a 'Rage Racer 2' or Ridge Racer 7 in '07)- but I'm still excited for Xbots. :)

The backgrounds are just... wow...

I really hope this isn't pushed aside in the US in favor of PGR3.
 
Hmm. .

I hate Ridge Racers but I love me some old fashioned Ridge Racer.

Project Gotham 3 looks and most likely plays incredible but Reiko Nagase has returned.

I bought way too many racing games this generation and I'm trying to avoid doing that again.

I think I'm going to fail :(

Who said I wasn't getting a X360? Did I not just say in my post that I'm getting RR6? I was simply worried that it may not be released for the PS3 so I could ALSO get that version.

Where did I slam the game? I'm an RR whore at heart so as I explained in my previous post I wasn't sure if it was X360-exclusive or not 'cause I'd be ready and willing to buy the exact same game again on another system simply because I love RR so much.

the psp game handled great. best adaptation of the arcades handling for pad yet IMO. the "on-rails" aspect of the drifting was pretty lame though. hopefully that aspect didn tmnake the translation to rr6.

Actually don't take it personally, while his comment was directed at you I meant mine to be directed at those who do slam the game just because it's on the 360. Sorry for the misunderstanding, the fault was mine. When I said "fanboy idiots" I didn't mean to refer to you.

It's a comment that built up from seeing reactions to other games as well, such as 2K Sports and EA's lineup. PS3 extremist fans are a quakin in their boots nowadays.

2K and EA's lineup? Shouldn't PS3 fans be more likely to look forward even more seeing how those two companies make multiplatform titles, seems like a win-win if NBA Live/2K is what they can do already on next gen hardware and they can expect it just as well.
 
looks damned good in official namco screens. obviously it doesn't do the things pgr3 does, but it's 60fps and it's got plenty of ridge style. i just hope it has a good number of original tracks...i think the ones in the scans were in ridge racers. i'm buying a 360 for oblivion, but this will be an awfully nice bonus. :D
 
The PSP game is my most played game this year so how can I possibly say no to RR with Xbox Live support and Xbox 360 visuals. Those magazine scans have me more excited than any of the playable demos I've seen.

Perfect Dark Zerp = Shooter

Ridge Racer 6 = Racing

Dead Or Alive 4 = Fighting

NBA 2K6 = Sports

^^^ that's my launch plans so far... i might throw in kameo if the online portion is worthwhile.

Looks pretty good...Perhaps a tad bit better than how Outrun 2 looked on scans...but well :) enough for me.
Let's hope for tons of new tracks around the same city :)
 
Maybe in the manner of how wide the tracks are...but OR has varied locals and such, whereas RR is always in the same city, albeit different parts of the city that can look different but not as varied as OR.

In regards to online play, I wouldn't mind a 4 player max on it...anything more (such as 6) would be way too crowded when you have people at the same skill level.
 
Besides urban environments looking kinda over-simplistic (comparing to PGR3) it's all good I guess, and it's 60fps locked.
Wonder what will sell more on japanese X360 launch, RR6 or DOA4? :)
