having to hit dumbass impossible drum rolls and alt strumming something that the fucking guitar can't even pick up has always been one of the stupidest things about music games. I'm not saying make every alt strum or drum roll section a line but if it's shit that 99% of people can't hit then come on.

Halftar is the Xbox 360 Arcade of music game instruments. If you are going to get that hardcore into the game to the point where you can play the halftar on Pro Expert, the next step is to go buy a real guitar. If you buy the realtar, that problem is solved. It also gives you incentive to get to that absolute top skill level, since you invested that much in the damn thing to begin with. I'm guessing the absolute minimum price on that sucker is $300. Given that this is the current price of the Mad Catz Fender replica, I wouldn't be surprised to see the realtar closer to $400.

There's apparently a quick drop in/out feature, like GH. However, IGN also says that you can have 4 of the same instrument, but I haven't seen this anywhere else. The only DLC we've seen having harmonies in it is the Green Day stuff from last year or so. For whatever reason, nothing else has been documented having them. Now, it could be because the data is hidden in some way, or it could just be that Harmonix didn't do it for some weird reason.
