In what sense? All the humming and falsettos?

That, and all of the top players sound terrible. Oh, and if you copy the original vocals exactly, (or play the actual vocal track to the game) that is not reflected in your score.

This is the biggest problem with the vocals, and why I only sing on Medium and treat it as fun karaoke. The Vocal track needs some post processing on it so that the singer doesn't always sound so dry. A touch of Chorus, a touch of Reverb, and maybe some Normalization. It's done for almost every singer in the studio, why shouldn't the singer at home get the same benefits?

Anyone else notice the first Rock Band 2 DLC is up?

Calm down ladies, the only thing in it is Still Alive (which comes up as already downloaded)

Im officially done with RB until RB2. whatever DLC comes out im just gonna DL and save it for RB2. My excitement for RB2 is at a all time high and really just want that sunday to be a sunday of awesomeness.

Im just gonna catch up on some backlog and count the days. It will be hard but I think I can do it.

RB1 it's been good but it's time for you to retire. good times.

Quick question. My friend has a 40 gig PS3, which only has 2 usb ports, how can he connect multiple instruments to it. Does EA sell an official splitter?

Honestly I think I might do this as well. Then again I think I love RB too much to give it up for a month. :lol

Also, on hard drums:

This was my sightread, and I didn't get down the pattern of:
Code:
__B_
  B
R
  B
__B_
  B
R
  B
__B_
Until the very last part of the song, and even then I failed on a drumroll. :(

RB comes with one... you have to plug it in though

yea Duck that song gave me some problems as well. took me awhile to beat on Expert and awhile to 5 star it on hard. I kept getting 4 and 3/4 and it would NOT give me 5 stars.

PS3 version doesn't come with a hub.

@ biggkidd: Yeah, EA sells an official hub, but any USB hub will do. The best ones being powered through the USB and not needing an outlet.

PS3 guitar is wireless right? So you only need to plug in mic and drums?

The PS3 guitar comes with a dongle, so he needs the hub.

PS3 version comes with a USB hub. At least, any PS3 version shipped in the past 6 months does. There will be a big sticker on the box announcing it.

Oh sorry, didn't realise that. Seems strange that it should need one.

Apparently there was some hoopla over instituting bluetooth in the GH and RB guitars, also adding the fact that Sony doesn't have any real standardization like Microsoft, so both sides decided to use dongles for their guitars.

Oh, so they finally realized that just about every PS3 owner has the 40GB model. Thank God.

Any USB hub should work though, so you should just pick any one up on the cheap if you did not get one boxed in. On my 360 version the hub the came with it worked just the same as an old hub I had for my laptop

If you are looking to make the front of the console look a bit tidier, then you could get a 10 to 15 foot USB Extension Cable, plug it in to the PS3, and then hide the end of that some where, and plug the HUB into that and plug the guitar/drum/mic wires in there. This means that only one wire will be coming out of you console instead of 4 and it will look much tidier.

I no longer have wires across the floor thanks to an extension wire going around the room hidden next to the wall, with the end placed next to the side of the sofa.

Horray, at least someone care about my post!

I thought I found something cool, but then no one cared... sad times :(
i cared

i just forgot to respond

I am disappointed that they're going with a new RB2 category, I wish they would have just stuck with what exists and exemplify the whole "rock band platform" gig.

The way the XBLM works wouldn't allow that, really. Each game gets its own section on the marketplace, and the "played games" tab always links to it.

i want this so bad. like yesterday

*looks at ps3*

fuck :(

I want it so bad as well. I might even buy a 2nd 360 on RB2 release day to keep me in check while my current 360 is down and out.... fuck. =(

I've resorted to playing custom GH games to keep me occupied. =\

Unfortunately, it can't be set up that way. But that's what the in game music store is for.

I will probably go on a GH binge as well. :lol

I'm way ahead of you guys. I've been playing GH2 and 3 more now, and I finally cracked Cult of Personality on Expert yesterday. If I ever get past the last tier I know I'm never gonna beat Lou, but I'll be satisfied.

This.

When the game first came out, I got really into vocals, and tried to get as high up on the leaderboard as I could. But I always sung the song as intended, and really put my heart in to it. Watching videos of the "top" players, such as billtvshow and violinhero really made me want to punch them! I'm sure that they have decent voices outside of the game, but I just don't see using a robotic voice or quick switching of octaves because that's what the game registers best.

Hopefully RB2 will fix the broken talkies and I'll have an even better time with vocals.

We need some Billy Talent DLC.

This custom of Fallen Leaves was a lot of fun. :O

Billy Talent gets a bit grating to me, but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a song or two. I'd probably prefer Devil in a Midnight Mass to Fallen Leaves though.

Has anyone checked out the TXB screens for RB2? they definitly show off some cool stuff.

http://screenshots.teamxbox.com/gallery/2050/Rock-Band-2/p1/

scroll through a couple of pages. alot of menu stuff. including being able to pick your venue in Quickplay.

That first pic with the Tiger on the side looks SICK! Holy shit awesome. HMX has some amazing artists.

Those music video gameplay looks so awesome.

GAH! The more previews/screenshots I see the more I want it so badly.
