Bass is cool. Especially on Muse tracks.
But the White Stripes are too awesome to leave out because of being a 2-man band. (Same with the Ting Tings)
There should be nothing stoping 2-man bands: See Tenacious D as perfect example.

Yeah, they can be a real pain in the ass on expert. Half the time they don't pick up.

And other times they work WAY to easy.

I gold starred Asthetics of Hate my first time attempting it (and I barely if ever sing any of the songs)

..Also there are a lot of broken talkies in the DLC. For instance, in Clouds Over California, nothing you say on the "Reign!" phrase will pick up at all. You can scream, be monotone, rub the mic against your leg, and still get a messy.

On disc, the "Ow" in Next To You was never hit until very recently.

Talkies are ridiculous. I got 90% on expert Sabotage without singing a single word correctly, but can't get down the intro to Ballroom Blitz, despite being able to sing the rest of it perfectly.

I got 100% on Debaser Expert without looking at the screen. Good enough for me!
Debaser's vocals are completely broken! You can just say jibberish and still get 100% on Expert.

I would've preferred if there were no talkies in the game at all. I mean, every voice has pitch, right? So even if someone is "talking", you should have to match their pitch. That would've made things a hell of a lot easier for me, rather than having to worry about "broken talkies".

yeah i noticed this. Not only that i noticed that you dont have to say anything at all and you can still get the rest of the song perfect. Sigh.

So, I just played Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps on Expert Drums for the first time.... I passed it, but I am not walking for the rest of the day :(

I am kinda used to expert drums (playing songs from all over the list and from dlc in quickplay mode), but all of that crazy bass drum f'd up my leg... I got a cramp half way through :lol

Hard is still my go to mode though, so I guess I could get better

But still.... ouch!

TMBG at least has/had the Band of Dans to round out the requirements.

(I always thought it was kinda funny they had 5 members and only 2 names for a while.)

Nice find on the figurines stuff, BBG!

I don't think I'll be able to afford an "army of me", but I'll probably plunk down for one or two for the office at some point. I can get a pretty decent likeness of me in the in-game editor, and having a little me with a 'goatar' would just be amazing!

The game needs the fucking White Stripes. If we can have instrumentals, then we can fucking well have the White Stripes.

DO YOU HEAR ME DTEASDALE/CptUNDERPANTS? I AM SWEARING WITH DESIRE.

Objectively, I think Rock Band looks better as a result of moving to the rectangles, but I still find that when I play GH:3 I have an easier time of spotting HO/PO than I do with RB. That's really all I care about. What looks best in screenshots stops mattering 10 seconds in to your first song. RB2 does have a new UI and hyperspeed, so maybe I'll be more accepting. I still wish both games offered most customisation when it came to how the game displays notecharts.

After watching the first inofficial video of RB I noticed that Harmonix had this accent hits on drums with a different note symbol which are now in GHWT.

BBG is the RB thread masta.

That shit is serious business. I really hope they come up with some solution for RTTH style songs where red is basical a cymbal though. I know I'm LTTP on this, but still.

Kit is pretty amazing though. This pic makes me just want to buy the pedal.

I really don't need to spend money on that. I'm in no way a good drummer(Or a drummer at all), but it looks so awesome.

I don't know, I think the circle notes make it look kiddy now. The first time I saw someone playing GH:WT, I thought it looked like a Fisher Price version of Rock Band. I'm glad they went with Rectangles.

I think what bugs me about the Guitar Hero UI now isn't the circle notes so much that it's sticking to that "Xtreme" attitude, what with all the bad fonts and clutter. What I like about the Rock Band UI is that it tries to be as clean as it can, so all you see are the notes and the band.

Completely 100% fucking agree!

Also the super-relaxed timing was another thing that irked me, but it was cleaned up a little bit for GH:A, so maybe they'll fix it a little more for WT. Either way though, they're not going to get me to switch over. I'm way too far invested in the Harmonix Love Machine!

Does anyone else OCD about how for drums the green note's on the far right? That always irked me.

Not that it matters since you play drums by spatial location, but still.

EDIT: WOW, it's been a while since I played RB but man, I didn't realize how bad the vocal lines looked in GHWT.

QFT. And the character redesigns, don't get me started...I'm sure their create-a-character will rectify some of that, but overall the nice aesthetic that Harmonix has with their cartoon style is more my thing as opposed to the ugly-stick beatings that Neversoft has been doling out.
