I'm not a grumpy bear. Just feel it's unnecessary. You know I love most of you guys.

So, DLC announcement in a bit? Will it be good? Probably not.

Is this thread even about Rock band anymore?

BTW (I think Rock Band is fun *burns* :O)
It will be at 10 this morning when I bitch that the newest DLC doesn't include Black Sabbath or Creedence Clearwater Revival

Probably not.

So, like, list who you love or GTFO! :p

The list of DLC I would enjoy is miles long. However, most of it will probably never happen outside of RBN. I guess we'll find out in 45 minutes. Probably won't be any metal, which is what I would like most.

American Music was a pleasant surprise last week though. Love the Femmes!

I'm not an angle!

I think it's funny that I'm primarily a vocalist/guitarist, and I enjoy singing the metal songs the most, even though they're always Tier 0. I guess it's because I do them "correctly" and don't just say the words or rub the mic around in a plastic bag.

BTBAM would be awesome if their vocalist took singing lessons c/d
D.
The thing is he can sing, but he chooses to perform in the style he does to help share his vision with the world!

lol

You should try that method. I won't sing metal until they get Sweating Bullets in.

The growling brings down the entire band. I'm listening to Obfuscation right now and it would be an insane instrumental, but the vocals distract from the good parts.

New albums out next week:

Hole - Nobody's Daughter
Bullet for My Valentine - Fever
Drowning Pool - Drowning Pool
Miranda Cosgrove - Sparks Fly

Good choices for adverDLC announced today?

Oh, god no.

When is your FS RB Day, Shag?

I agree. I'm fine with some growling, mostly when it's as a backup to the main vocals. Not a fan of bands that are primarily growling/pig grunts.

Growling is fine. I just don't like their compositions. Parts of the song are awesome, but it jumps around so much. It feels rather disjointed to me. Absolutely talented musicians though, I'll give them that.

Plus, instrumentals suck. I *need* vocals in a song, even if I'm just listening to it. Didn't we have a discussion where a song need vocals, and an instrumental is just a piece of music?

Sunday, May 2nd. 5PM-?.

Would be awesome if you could make it, even if just for a little bit. Otherwise, if you wanna hang out this weekend or something, I'm free on Sunday and then a couple days during the week too.

If you try to argue that nearly the entirety of classical music are not songs.. I'm really not sure what to say to that:lol

Wiki on "song" said:
In music, a song is a composition that contains vocal parts ("lyrics") that are performed ("sung"), commonly accompanied by musical instruments, exception in the case of a cappella songs
So, yes. Classical music are not songs, but compositions (or pieces) of music.

I think I'm gonna have to track down some of these "Punk Goes..." albums. Some of them sound like they might be amazing.

...And there's like 9 of them!

PUNK GOES CRUNK! Holy shit! Punk version of "Men in Black"!! I must find this today!

Finals are next week, and I still have several assignments to finish. I will be there on May 2, though. Maybe we can get together over the break as well.

That seems like such an arbitrary distinction though. I guess the reason I called it into question in the first place is according to that definition this is more of a song than this. The fact that any generic and shit pop song is therefore more of a song and, thus, more fit to your liking than any instrumental...

Just seems like a pointless distinction I guess:lol

Aside from the Punk Goes Pop and Punk Goes Metal, they all suck. The "Men in Black" cover is pretty ok. I mainly like it because there's a part in the middle where the beat gets faster for a few seconds.

Also, I do like Say Anything's "I Got Your Money" though. It's so silly.

Also also, Strung Out's "Bark at the Moon" is absolutely fan-fuckin'-tastic.

Classical music gets a pass for me. I just mean modern instrumentals. I can appreciate them, but I just would never actively go out and listen to them when I could have something with lyrics. If an album has an instrumental, it's probably my least favorite on the album.

Okay, that seems fair enough to me then:lol

I fear the budget cutbacks have taken a drastic toll this week. On the other hand, no Hole.

I'm reading the announcement and it sounds like they're even apologizing already. :lol

Was just going to post that..
Also, as a quick addendum to reassure any Chicken Littles out there, by this point most everyone knows that 3 tracks in a week isn't the norm and it isn't going to be. We've got loads more content in the pipeline, tons of awesome RBN tracks that are now coming out on the Xbox360 AND the PS3 (please see this thread for more details), GD:RB on shelves in a little over a month and more RB3 news coming your way soon. Rest assured, we've got plenty of content coming (in addition to the 1,338 songs already available) that will rock your socks off. Enjoy!

smh

Double smh at the DLC. I kinda like that Busted song, but eeeeeeeeh...

AAAAAAnnnnnd no I don't. Ew.

I guess something happened with the licensing for that Flyleaf three-pack that was supposed to come out during Christian Rock Hard Week and we're now stuck with a single.

Well, "stuck" being an operative term.
