There's a few solos on American Idiot; off the top of my head, I can remember them in Jesus of Surburbia, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and American Idiot.

There's a really sad one in Holiday, and by sad I mean it's pretty pathetic.

Online was laggy and shit. but local and SP was really fun, the only thing I hated about LBP was the fact that they only released one level pack a year, The MGS4 pack and Pirates of the Carbines pack are really great.

I'm playing LBP PSP now and it's really good, I love the mini games too.
I thought the whole game was pretty shitty tbh. Boring single player, shitty platforming mechanics, some great online levels but straight up awful interface and organization of them (world map, really?) and to top it off the game is a laggy mess. I don't care if they improve with LBP2, I'm not buying that shit again.

Single player levels got better and more challenging as you go on and I found nothing wrong with the machanics, it's not Mario but it's not supposed to be.

I agree with the whole world map mess, they need to find a better way of organizing it, I mean there's more than 2 million levels this shit does not work.

Played through all of Tragic Kingdom last night and it's definitely my favorite album in RB. Every song is great on drums. I just wish there was a way to play it all with one click instead of having to make a setlist.

Here are some RBN songs I've been enjoying lately.
Doomed by 8 Inch Betsy - Chart (Early Version)
Heads or Tails? Real or Not by Emarosa - Chart
Plans & Reveries by Black Gold - Chart (Left Handed)
Take Control by the New Regime - Chart (Left Handed)
Chalk Lines by Division Day - Can't find a chart right now
Shot At The Title by Your Horrible Smile - Chart
I firmly believe in you man, Im downloading these demos in a few minutes.

And yeah, that No Doubt album is really great on drums, everybody should have it. Well...I have already said a couple of times that Tragic Kingdom is so fucking epic and one of the best songs of the entire RB platform.

Just watched Iron Man 2. Overall, it was good. I love Scarlett Johnasson and in the movie she was a redhead but the 1 fighting scene she had, they thought it would be a good idea to make cheesy poses.

Wel! - cooommme!

To! - theeeee!

Tra! - giiiic!

King! - dooooom!

first band I ever saw live... blew my face off. aaaaaaand I touched Gwen Stefani... haha.

Ronabo's E. Honda is a beeeeast :lol

Played, man, it was great playing with you and watching you destroy my friends :lol

Hey thanks for the compliments. My Honda skills are from the almost 20 years of playing some form of Street Fighter. I enjoyed the matches. I had the sound up barely enough to hear you guys laughing at the festivities. A good time was had. We'll have to do it again. I'm still impressed with the net code on the game. I could never play anyone across the pond in SF4.

Yeah, the lag wasn't even remotely an issue my end. Not sure about the others though as they're on peasant-net. The Cammy player has to jump through a few hoops to connect to the Smang guy :lol

Hopefully we can do it again real soon.

Yeah, they are awesome live. Saw them twice after Tragic Kingdom came out and both times they rocked hard. They were one of my favorite bands in high school and are pretty much the reason I got into ska music. While Tragic Kingdom is an awesome album, their self-titled album is the one that made me really love them. Would love to see that in RB someday, but I doubt we'll get anything from that since they didn't even include Trapped in a Box in The Singles DLC.

Any Flotsam & Jetsam would be good, but I'd prefer this one..

At least give me the title track! Soooooo good!

So much off-topic centred posts in this thread, I thought I clicked the wrong thread for a sec.:lol

I really want to get into this, but before I do... I'd like to state I'm just a poor student.

For the UK members. How much have you spent(in £s) on Rockband(2?) peripherals, DLC etc?

I definitely want to get the whole drums, guitar, mic set up. I'm not sure when the next iteration or spin off I'm likely to be interested in, is being released..I was planning on buying it this summer, should I wait?

Xbox 360 - $350
Rock Band kit - $160
Rock Band 2 - $60
Rock Band 2 kit - -$1 (got one for $99 and sold my old kit for $100)
DLC - 450 songs at, let's say $1.75/song (MS points discounts, bundle discounts, etc), $788
HDTV - $750

Oh god I've spent over $2000 on a single game. :(:(:(:(

If you don't mind waiting, that would be the best/cheapest option. It probably won't be until late October/early November though. AFAIK the RB2 instruments aren't available in the UK outside of the pricey beatles bundle, if you can find that on clearance somehow then go for it. The rock band 1 instruments are really shitty compared to the newer ones. DLC can be expensive but you could start building your library before you buy the game.

I never really understood the point of playing it with others. It seemed to turn a great, fun platformer into a game where you were always getting pushed off the screen and having other people fuck things up, but without any tangible reward. Well, aside from the sections they purposely made you find other people to play through. Which was annoying.

Blame the lack of level packs on people being dumb enough to pay them tons of money for fucking costumes.

Agreed. It was a great 2D platformer and that's what I'd wanted out of it. Even when it was in beta though the world map was a mess. It was impossible to find anything other than popular levels, most of which were complete crap. In the end I never really bothered much with playing other people's levels because it was just so fucking hard to find anything that was even remotely worth playing. There were a few (Underwater Palace was better than many MM levels and did a great job of simulating water), but they were hard to find and even harder to find any levels of equal quality.

My biggest concern with LBP2 is the touch control shit they showed at their GDC press conference. DO NOT WANT! When will touch controls finally just die already? Do people really believe that any of the popular Wii games are popular for reasons other than novelty and have actual lasting appeal?

Are you on 360 or PS3?

I might just wait then, if it means this(?) fall for entirely new songs + instruments.

I have both consoles, my 360 died once back in 2006 and got it refurbished. Haven't really played it much since, but I wouldn't risk buying such an expensive game on this platform.

And my PS3 died literally a week ago, my blu-ray drive just started making weird sounds. ):

I'm probably picking up new PS3 soon though, possibly 250gig slim.

Thanks for the replies everyone, now I just need more info on this new Rockband release. Excited.

Alright guys, need your advice

What should I change my avatar too

Did you even read what I said?

"Any Flotsam & Jetsam would be cool, but I would prefer this..."

I did not say "Why do they always pick the wrong songs? They should've picked <this>! HMX fucking suck!"

I'm not exactly sure what would be the cheapest, but if you're going with PS3, you can buy the Beatles: Rock Band set in the us for about 68GBP. Of course, then you'd have to have it shipped over, but that will give you the best instrument set.

Then you just buy the UK RB2 and/or 3 disk.

I'm pretty sure that will be cheaper (and sooner) than buying RB3 outright.

Granted, I guess you could do the same on the 360 as well, but you'd be stuck with an unuseable disk.

If you've got both systems, I'd definitely go with the 360 version, as it's HMX's lead platform and gets more love with RBN. Who knows what RB3 will be like on the PS3, but I'm not sure if they'll have a fully-supported RBN venture then either.

Look at this motherfucker trying to start some shit right here.

He's not really. He has all consoles.

Didn't edit in time, did ya?:lol
That doesn't stop him from being a fanboy. He bought the awful version of FF13 because he has something against PS3 or something

Also, I have a 360 but I don't use it because it's a piece of shit

Did anyone here get Afterburner? I'm intrigued after seeing it at an arcade last week (also saw the Mario Kart arcade game, which was shocking) and it looks fun but no demo makes it hard to plunk the money down.

corkscrewblow said:
Only difference now is 360 gets all RBN songs (most of which aren't even good)
Sure, 360 is better but not by much

There may not be much for you yet, but there's over 250 songs so far. I'm sure you'd be fuming if Dark Tranquility came out on 360 and it wasn't in the precious PS3 "Top 5" (if you still had RB2 for PS3).

Most people here are already way too picky about dlc. Shit on RBN would of passed when it first came out. When RB1 came out, I bought a lot of crap songs just because but now I'm way more selective, only picking up the really good stuff. Only a small percentage of players are buying shit from the RBN store.

RBN hasn't been that great so far, but if it picks up some steam, and labels see a profit, it could be gangbusters. I bought PP (LL) but only because it was .99; I would have passed at 1.99. Waiting for Clutch and...well, I think that is it out of the releases so far.

I'm not saying that a bunch of people are all over RBN and there are hundreds of awesome tracks on there. I'm just saying that if you're just starting RB and you own both consoles (Wii doesn't count), then why wouldn't you go with the one that gives you more options? There is good stuff on RBN for everyone, even if it's not that much right now for those picky people.
