I wish they had a PS3 tounament. I would get my nuts rocked, but damnit I still want to try.

Lots of people in the SSF 4 thread are good, should throw your name in there.

Sightread on Tastes like Kevin Bacon: 83% 239 note streak 5 star. Wasn't too bad, still think Death Quota is worse. The horn part cracks me up.

Enema of the State Deep Cuts, plz.

Also, just failed "Godzilla." Something wonky with my guitar, probably.

If you use a strat just beat it for a couple seconds. My blue button was cutting out at random times and with just a few seconds of rage it is all better now.

No matter what anybody says I've found that electronics have survival instincts.

Just got back from a Them Crooked Vultures concert. It was fucking amazing, they're such a good band live. They were all amazing live and you could tell they were actually enjoying themselves instead of trying to be super serious. Also, I got a drum stick Dave Grohl threw into the crowd <3 All in all it was a great night and a great concert.

They are playing in Chicago tomorrow but tickets are 50 bucks. No thanks. I'm seeing Iron Maiden for cheaper than that.

Is that for nosebleed or actually good seating? The Maiden tickets I mean.

Lawn seats (on a hill or slope, I imagine)...it's at an outdoor ampitheater. I used to go to a venue like that all the time back in Houston and I dont' think this one in Chicago is much different. You are farther away, but people on the lawn are always more chill (or crazy as fuck...depends on the concert I guess).

Edit: basically for TCV I don't pay more than 30 bucks for a General Admission small venue show...I don't care who it is.

I still need to listen to that album. I like everyone in the band so I am not sure what I am waiting for.

I have kind of the opposite view..I refuse to pay much money for lawn seats. You barely get to see the actual performance because they're tiny at that point and for a mosh pit I'd rather be in an area with everyone crowded around like at the side stages for Mayhem Festival. I love small venues because you can have a crazy time still or you can chill and you have the ability to get super close to the band for a cheap price compared to standing room only at my ampitheater.

S'more GH6 news.
Despite the move away from famous on screen representations, Bright assures us that you will still hear some familiar voices providing voiceover work during the Quest mode, such as RHCP's Anthony Kiedis as an elven sidekick and Herman Li of Dragonforce fame as Hrrothgar, Ancient Keeper of Frets. These two join the previously revealed Gene Simmons who plays the father of Lars Ümlaüt."
Thought they'd be done with dumb celebritiy cameos ? Well here they are, back with a vengeance ! Are you ready to experience a storyline that'll be kinda like Brütal Legend, except without the wit or charm ? I sure as hell am ! Because of power-ups and shit ! And transformations and what have you.

No, seriously, the tracklist looks good so far, but then again so did GH3's and we all know how that ended up.

Adding "story" to Tony Hawk was the beginning of the end. The jumping of the shark, as it were. Nobody gives a fuck about this shit. Nobody. And if someone in this thread here says "I do", well, you're a fucking liar. There are exactly 2 things that make a music game;

1. The setlist
2. The charts

If you nail these two things, then you are done. DONE. World Tour modes, character creation, score tables, hell, even stars. These matter to such an tiny number of people who lay out the money for your game you may as well not even fucking bother.

Unfortunately I am one of those people who do not matter but would likely not lament anything being lost outside of a good setlist and good charting once my initial sadness dissipated.

It's not like you're going to be running around in a 3D world. It's going to be a glorified fighting game storyline, just some shit to look at between songs. If they do some fun stuff with dreamscapes style animation during songs than that's really all I expect. It is completely impossible to ruin a music game if it has quickplay anyway, so why not push the boat out a bit.

BTW, I think the "powers" will end up being a really cool addition. It's basically another form of SP pathing.

How cool can they possibly be if one of the characters has a clear advantage over the others because their Pig Vision nets more points overall?

Dave will gladly grind 6 hours for his pig mask.

It's a waste of time and money. Neversoft could be doing GUN 2 but nooooo they're stuck adding a story to Guitar Hero.

Fuckin' A.

Do you really think it'll be that simple?

Here's a suggestion. What if one power gave you a max of a 6x multiplier, one gave you double SP when you hit a section, and one gave you bonus points for a notestreak. Which power would get you the most points if you FC'd Fury of the Storm?

Sagat is a well fleshed out character, go fuck yourself.

:lol
I'm not touching the story in SSF4 but I played through it for SF4. What a load of crap, sure the main story line was shit but some of the characters storyline made no sense. Blanka wanted to win so he can impress the town so they stop hating his mom? Zangief, a 400lb Russian wrestler apparentely has a heart of gold and just wants to impress the children by being the best?
