I can't tell whether you're serious or what, but just for the record I posted it here in such a restrained format so it wouldn't end up all over the Internet. Go ahead and troll Kotaku if you want, but leave my info out of it.

Subject: RB DLC for next week.

Message:
Hi Brian, how's it going? This year has flown by, right? Just thought I'd give you guys the heads up that some junior on GAF says Pantera are in RB next week. I can't even remember the album name cos the band are so shitty, but if you check the GAF RB thread you'll be fine.

I trust this message finds you well.
David.

This is going to be the best year for music games ever. Truly we are all blessed. Amen.

Hey anyone that gives a shit; you can combine powers in GH:WoR. There's 8 powers, and in quickplay you can combine up to 2. And there's no limit to the number of stars you can get one a song (well, beyond a perfect choice of powers/performance). Sweetness.

They should have saved those designs for tomorrow and said they were for the "Draw Muhammed Day."

So reading the RB3 design blog (http://www.rockband.com/zine/rock-band-3-design-team) is there any possible way this game isn't going to have some sort of real instrument teaching in it? Unless you're the king of hyperbole, you can't promise "revolutionary new experiences" and just have it be the same game with fluff around it. And trust me, I'm all for the same old game with fluff.

I hope they don't stray too far from the formula. But new features would be nice: Don't make it a boring music lesson, HMX.

Well whatever they add with surely be additional. If I can hook up my bass to the 360, and have the game hear my notes and tell me how close I come to playing the real song, well, that's an awesome feature. If they try and sell me some new hardware with fake strings that's kinda like a guitar than the whole thing is a waste of time.

We can only hope. Signs are not looking too good.

How would you realize teaching a real instrument in a useful way, though? It wouldn't get any better than some videos of someone playing the song or some note sheets. That's what we have the internet for.

Also, the game rating me playing a real instrument would be shit. You'd need some high-tech microphone shit to filter different drum parts to get the game be able to rate you. And even then it'd need some sick alien tech to get this better than "You played as fast the real song".

And would it really be a "revolutionary new experience"? It's pretty damn funny to think about it. What kind of marketing would they do? "Check out the new experience we have on Rock Band, play a real instrument, idiot. Who cares shit about you playing with plastic toys with your geek friends? Remember, we hinted at you buying some real shit in RB2, so do it now, bitch!" Or "Check out this awesome new stuff, you can play a real instrument like people already did 80 years ago."? This won't happen, that would kill the last fans left...

Expert Plus Plus with three different buttons per color. new guitar required of course.

So I came home from work today and I see a purple box sitting on the dining room table saying "Happy Belated Birthday, Pappa! From: Cinnamon & Azrael". Pappa is Swedish for Dad, and Cinnamon & Azrael are our cats. I opened it up and it was a nice new black DSi! Woohoo for my cats! Fucking awesome!

It was actually from my wife. She's awesome too!
