I seem to recall some hmxperson saying something like "you'd be surprised how much data is in the newer dlc files" unless I dreamt it. So perhaps they have just hidden the keyboard/pro data so well that the score hero kids couldn't find it, or alternatively maybe they have been planning for this for a while and will release a big patch that will add it to like the last 6 months songs.
I reject the implication that I'm a "score hero kid"!

RB drums may have Pro mode, there are notes that were labeled Tom Gems in the parsing routines that I don't think do anything and are in a lot of songs, but the rest of the stuff just isn't there. If it was properly charted you can most likely use the animation data (for all instruments) to get you 99% of the way there and clean it up, but that would still be a lot of work.

I think he was just full of crap and teasing you all :lol

That's why I'm saying, drums are more likely than guitar. Drums you can just determine if that playable note animates to some pad or some cymbal and adjust accordingly. Guitar you'd have to figure a lot more out.

Well yeah they have to annotate tablature essentially, I'm just trying to be optomistic dammit!

Music for teenagers. Cut your hair and listen to some real music.

Actually I've never had really long hair and I do enjoy music other then metal, like The Beatles, Rush, Pink Floyd, King Crimson etc.

Actually, before I started reading this thread and your constant "____ band is amazing" posts which made me check them out, KE is one of the bands I listened to the most. I stopped listening to them like six months ago though.

so that's why the thread jumped over ten pages since I was last here.

On retrofitting dlc...if it is possible to patch old dlc, we'll probably see a bath of songs done for release day, and then a few additional song patches each week along with our regular dlc.

As for what may be hiding in the current charts...the cymbal info, perhaps...vocal harmonies on some charts...but not the guitar pro mode stuff. Keyboards may use an intelligent combining of the guitar and bass tracks to form a rudimentary keyboard line.

Finally, there is no high-hat pedal. At least, that is what I was told outright. I may have been lied to, but I don't think so in this case.

And, yes, big names are coming...not sure if they're only on disk, or if they're dlc, but some people should be happy.

I did have really long hair and I do enjoy those bands!

Also if there's any single metal band RB needs it's Opeth, without a question.

How many of you regulars on PS3 still actually play RB? CSB (when RB3 comes out), Ashour, birdman, October, ravien? I'm most likely switching to PS3 for music games soon so I'm checking if I'll have someone to play with. That is, if anyone is interested in playing with me since I guess you all have like 200-300 songs at least and I'll be starting from 0 and probably won't be able to afford that many...

So, a vague update on the Thing I Can't Talk About. It's not the Thing I Can't Talk About that other RBN people have guessed about, though I believe there's been talk of this Thing.

Anyway, looks like the label is the only weak link in all this; they haven't verified things, and I was told they would have an announcement that would relate to this.... announcement was made, no mention. Either they're giving a slow no, or (more likely, from the sounds of it) they're just really really sluggish on things. Or they made the announcement early, I thought it was coming later.

So it is RBN related, it is a song, memes will be applied to it, but I can't name it just yet. If it falls through, though, there's still the other Thing. Either way, it's very exciting and stressful times here.

Maybe for the last 6-12 months, Hmx has been secretly adding the pro mode to the dlc, so that it'll work in the RB3 engine?
that's what I was thinking. Maybe?

and this must have been what Jeff G. was talking about for the big Thursday surprise I guess.

I'm PS3, but I rarely play online (if ever, the stars have to align just right.). I have about 240 DLC songs, if you include LRB.
Same here :lol basically EVERYTHING same for me. I prefer just rocking out either solo or with other people in the same room.

It's a lot better when you have friends in the room, but online multiplayer>solo
