Unfortunately, you may be SOL. USB->MIDI may exist, but I haven't seen any.

As far as standard usage, I know people that have similar keyboards and the way to get around it is to go through a computer out to any MIDI synth, etc. they need. I don't see how that is usable in this case however.

Looks like they're retiering songs in RB3.

I know it really has nothing to do with the RB version of it, but for a while there I was using my RB1 PS2 drum kit on the Wii version through a bunch of adapters

Drum kit -> computer (usb) -> Miditar Hero converts to midi -> GH drum kit (usb->midi)

Man, I'm so disappointed that there hasn't been any impressions. What gives? Fuck playing Rock Band 3 tomorrow. 3DS time for me. ;)

Sorry to all you Burnout Paradise haters, but I just heard on Giant Bomb from their live stream that Hot Pursuit's gonna be open world.
Sadly I think most people who hated BP played before stuff was patched. Add everything the last patch gave BP as well as an option to fast travel to races and there would basically be nothing to bitch about.

To be fair you can use any compatible guitars with the ps3. Hey if its free for me why not, don't need to go out of my way to try it.

Did they say at what point the DLC would have guitar implementation?

Awesome.

Edit: TDU2, GT5 and that are releasing within literally two months of each other, racing game heaven confirmed.

It looks like they are making 2 disc based games, dance and guitar. All dlc will work for singing but there's special guitar dlc from what I can tell. Scarce on details, but there's a more diverse pool of music there, if the gameplay is good I welcome it.
Unless they fix their DRM they can fuck themselves. I won't support their DLC...unless they make SingStar: MJ then I would buy everything.

[M3wThr33] There is NO individual hyperspeed. That was brought up by the big Cena guy

Preorder cancelled.

[M3wThr33] Well, at least no individual hyperspeed RIGHT NOW
/optimisim

*edit*
[M3wThr33] OH
[M3wThr33] New game announced
[M3wThr33] Rock Band Country Track Pack 2
[M3wThr33] I'm dead serious
[~AGreatDave] Was it just casually mentioned or did it get a more formal announcement?
[M3wThr33] Plastered all over the inside walls

I was actually wondering what happened to new track pack releases a couple of days ago.

It's weird because all the dance stuff is already on disc or DLC, so maybe they will go back and put guitar in the more rockin' tracks.

As for the UI it's about expected, singstars UI is simple looking, it falls in line with that imo.

Singstars DRM is not a problem I've transfered it to two different PS3's, it's the customer service reps that are retarded. You call they say they don't know what you are talking about ask for manager or hang up and call again, next person says ok I need to email SCEE and they will reactivate check in a week. You check the songs are there, you download and that is that.

Boo yourself. Best news for the game.
Agreed, its a chase game, why would you want to be chased or chase people down a linear track when you can make your own on the fly? I'm way more excited for it after hearing this. The trailer appeared to be linear tracks and I was dissapointed.

I don't even know which thread to use anymore. :lol

I was just wondering if they showed the six string guitar in action anywhere? The few videos I've found have been of the 102 button guitar.

Not that I know of. All they've shown is the guitar itself, and not actual gameplay with it.

Hrm, alright. I wonder if they're saving that for some reveal closer to the event or if they're still working on it (which seems likely if they don't have a price for it yet).

I'm just sad they haven't had a huge blow out of information that I was expecting. I wanted a date for the game, 20 songs revealed and the pricing revealed for the fulltar.

That's basically what I was hoping for as well.

I guess there's GC, but really, after the 10 or so European songs they launched with, they pretty much gave up on non-English European songs so I don't see any real reason to hold back.

It's fairly calculated I guess. They can at least milk another event closer to launch for everything else.

In that stage show that someone linked above, they do indeed show the real guitar and the interface for it. I didn't watch the video but I saw it at their booth (assuming it is there since someone talked about how you can plug the guitar into an amp to hear yourself)...it really is just tablature, they will show the chord names on the left side (even for arpeggiated chords) so that experienced guitarists should be able to sight read effectively. Easy mode is basically just playing the root note of the chords (this is the same for keys) so it's still like you are playing part of the song.

They did not show the guitar out in the booth for people to play, though.

I did get to play Rock Band 3, but I don't know if the stuff I noticed is like, Lego David Bowie old. I played a couple of songs on Hard Pro Keys, didn't try anything else (I have an Ion kit at home so Pro Drums wasn't going to be way different for me, and I'm pretty much bored with guitar until I get to try Pro mode for that...)

No, I don't really play piano, although I did take lessons when I was little. The hardest thing for me was learning the colored zones and being able to accurately read the chart. I think that once you get that, anyone with skills should have no problem. The sliding around also messed me up big time because I wasn't used to the notation at all...needless to say I was horrible (70% woo!) but it is something I could see myself putting some time into to learn.

I have pictures of all the instruments in the display cases and whatnot if you guys are interested - let me know and I'll post them tomorrow.

Just got a call from a coworker tonight. I have a meeting to attend to for work. SIGH :(

By the time it's over, there's going to be a shitload of traffic too. ugh.

Argyle, thanks for the slight impressions! Post the pics if you want. They should be cool!

I might have to get the realrealtar, even though I have a Squier that has been sitting in a corner for over a year. Decisions ffffuuuuu

Well, that settles it: I will probably get the Pro Guitar at some point. Holy shit, is it awesome. Still bummed that there has been so little info coming out. Country Pack 2? Where is our huge announcement, bitches?

Nintendo 3DS looks great. And Legend of Zelda remake = purchase.

My wife hates "Here I Go Again" with a murderous passion. Knowing I get to annoy her for years to come with that song is hilarious. :lol
