I've only ever listened to him on the Sabbath albums he sang on. Is there any of his solo / other stuff worth listening to ? Any Dio fans on here can direct me to his best stuff.

The only reason I'm bringing him up is that I can a good laugh whenever I listen to Tenacious D's song on Dio. "you're too old to rock, no more rocking for you" :lol

his "holy diver" and "dream evil" albums are great. yes, lyrically he is cheesy as hell ("we are naked in the rain!!!" WTF?) but he rocks, and is IMO the best metal vocalist of all time.

Hahaha I really like Dio, I'm a sucker for that cheesy 80's metal.

Find yourself "Holy Diver," it's his best album IMO. Also, find his rendition of Aerosmith's song "Dream On" with Yngwie Malmsteen. It has the greatest vocals and guitar ever combined into one song.

And yah, if you can find a video of his song "Rainbow In The Dark" prepare to laugh your ass off...
