Reviews are starting to come in for what looks to be the first good comedy of the summer.

Rottentomatoes
Current Score: 81%
Fresh: 26
Rotten: 6

The Hangover, Todd Phillips' return to fratastic form after the disappointing School for Scoundrels, marks itself as an aesthetic step up for the Old School director right from the get go.

Proudly inappropriate and buoyed by both a clever script and some obvious chemistry between the film’s male leads, director Todd Phillips’ comedy will play like gangbusters with men and may even attract some women who know and love knuckleheads.

The male trio is so funny, the situations so wacky, the lingo so foul, and other characters and props so eccentric (absent groom, missing tooth, lost chickens, a tiger, Mike Tyson singing) that you gladly and joyously join the wild ride.

I think this is going to be a big comedy hit this summer.

Zach Galifianakis FTW!

+1

It actually looks really funny; Zach being in it is just a great plus! Very much looking forward to seeing it this weekend.

Old School is one of my favorite movies. Even after School for Scoundrels I have high hopes for this movie. Plus, Zach Galifianakis is the man.

As you can see from my 10 Film To See In June list, this my most anticipated of the month, and looks to be the funniest comedy of the year! (except maybe Bruno)

a couple of friends have seen it and says its miles better than Old School, and truly amazing. Can't wait. :D

As I mentioned in the other thread, this is not a film that uses up all the jokes in the trailers. Many of the jokes used in the trailer are also highly edited or switched up. I was at a packed house screening on Monday and the entire audience was enjoying it.

My only suggestion is not to bring anyone who has issues with the whole "go to the strip club" kind of bachelor party.

Thank for the heads up. I am having a bachelor party in the next few weeks and I have a feeling that if the fiance sees the movie she will not let me do it. But damn this movie looks like a riot.

Yep, definitely agree with this. Saw it last night and it was awesome. Great movie!!

Fresh cast is a nice touch and makes me want to see the movie more. Just hope it's not one of those movies where most of the funny parts are already shown in the previews.

This movie is fucking amazing. Can't believe I was debating with myself whether to see this or Land of the Lost. :lol :lol

So many hilarious scenes...

- Bin Laden/plane masturbating
- tasers
- tiger fucking
- baby masturbating
- naked asian man in the trunk :lol :lol
- digital photos at the end, especially the blowjob :lol :lol :lol
- breast feeding
- "Rain Man"
- the wedding singer

Go see this!

Just got back from this. The show I was in sold out. Overall the movie was fucking hilarious. Believe the hype. The entire cast is perfect, but Zach Galifinakis owns this shit.

I will see this again.

9/10

The baby was awesome and yes Galifinakis is/was awesome.

But did we really need the
old black lady blowjob scene at the end? Shit was too much.
:lol

A chick brought her fucking baby to the midnight showing I was like oh lawd.

Came back from this earlier... pretty funny movie.

I was a bit disappointed with the theater I saw it at, though. The volume seemed to be too low or something because everytime the audience erupted in laughter, it absolutely drowned out the sound of the movie.. and with this movie, the jokes are usually back-to-back so I had to listen close to hear the rest. :lol

Aside from that, and the criminally underused Mike Epps, this movie was great fun.

An 8/10 is about right.

I watched it today with a couple of friends and we all agreed that it wasn't that funny. I'm a huge fan of these kinds of comedies, but it didn't have anything special. Honestly, it just had a really bad script. There was a lot of pointless banter that kept being repeated throughout the entire film. Bradley Cooper stuck to the same repetitive lines, Ed Helms was more annoying than funny, and Zach Galifianakis had only a handful of shining moments. I hope there are others that agree with me. Probably a 6/10 for me.

fucking amazing!!!!

best comedy movie experience in a long time..

Bruno is the only movie that might be funnier.. but it will be tough..

want to see it again.. so fucking funny

Just saw this movie on friday. Theater was fucking pack. We literally could not find parking. Took like half an hour to find parking. Everyone pretty much loved the movie. All my friends and me loved it. Best comedy of the summer. I doubt anything will beat it. With the word of mouth it should do pretty well at the box office, only limiting factor would be the R rating.

the baby jacking off thing was hilarious and wrong at the same time :lol
the azn dude was funny as hell

Just got back and I cannot wait to see this again! Was so much fun to watch,
and the part with the asians was totally unexpected
.

Watched it at a packed movie theatre. Had to sit in the front row. Just like Superbad.
That being said, I think it was this years Superbad for me. I just loved it, my face was hurting from laughter by the end of the movie. Can't wait to get this on DVD.

Also, Heather Graham is hawwwt.

You hope a lot of other people don't enjoy the movie as well? K...

I thought it was hilarious

Saw this movie last night with the GF. We both absolutely loved it.

That may be the funniest final five minutes of any movie ever in the history of cinema.

...and that's not saying the rest of the movie lacked anything. It was very well-paced.

Ken Jeong is a god in this movie.

All I can really add is that my jaw was literally sore from laughing too much, I didn't think that was possible before

I laughed all the way to the credits. Left the theater wiping tears from my eyes. One of my favorite movies of the year so far.

The trailer doesn't do the movie justice. I almost didn't see it because the trailer was so interesting

I liked it, but I didn't see it in a crowded theater, so it didn't seem as funny tome as it would have been in a crowded theater.

I think it peaked
at the rooftop the first time when Allen does the blood brother thing

Saw it tonight. Was great,
Blood brothers was hilarious:lol and the pictures at the end.

Had a great crowd in there too. All around awesome movie.

Also, Allen and the kid :lol :lol

Probably my favorite part was when
the fat kid got chosen to tazer Allen :lol :lol :lol so perfect

I don't see another comedy outdoing this one this year. I'll give that Jeremy Piven one a chance, and I'm not feeling Year One other than the Cain and Abel part.

Mine kinda sucked. The volumne wasn't high enough so everytime the crowd laughed we wouldn't be able to hear the next line that well but it didnt ruin the story or anything.

ALso there was a guy sitting in our row who laughed like he was going to die every minute even when nobody else was laughing.

The retard had the nerve to proclaim outloud that he dislikes girls with annoying laughs (probably aimed at the chick behind him).

Can't wait to see it on DVD so I can get a complete experience without disruption.

JUST came back

the movie is hilariousssssss

that amish zach whatever his lastname saves this fucking movie... he's so hilarious

loved it allllllllllllll

totally worth it... go see it... it's hilarious... that is all

This movie was fucking awesome. One of the funniest, most entertaining films I've ever seen. The comedic group involved was gold. I can't recommend seeing this enough. Can't wait to check it out again.
