RR6 online issues

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

Has anyone else been experiencing issues with Ridge 6 online? Ever since about the second day I played it, I can't get a good multiplayer game going. Each race is stuck stuttering along at about 10 fps, with crazy lag issues. My screen will show me behind the leader, while the "leader's" screen will show me ahead of him.

Anyone else seen this? Any idea what the problem is?

Ya, hopefully Namco fixes this problem because custom soundtracks rock, but it's not a deal breaker like the stuttering would be.

the 360 rips cds about 10x faster than the Xbox, so I've started doing that, and actually HAVE to do that for DRM'd stuff

Rastex can you answer this for me?

O.K. so streaming from your PC is out of the question....but what about streaming from a stand alone USB hard drive? Will that work and not cause the stuttering bug?

"is it fine streaming from an ipod? if so, I'll just dump game specific stuff on there"

i have my sound track on a shuffle - it works no problems (i had the initial issue with online play too )

I would assume so, since it's not acting on a network, thus not using the same resources that cause the stuttering to begin with.

If this is true then why don't more people do this instead of worrying about having to re-rip their CDs onto their 360's hard drive? Why not just get a USB external HD?

Namco obviously has some bug; they are probably querying the availability (maybe even pulling the entire list of songs/playlists) of the networked PC somewhere in the main game loop when it should only be done in the menus. This could probably be fixed in a half dozen lines of code or less. I'll be surprised if they don't fix it.
