Jesus this film is so damn good. Haven’t seen it in like 20 years but Warren Beatty up against Al Pacino with a completely rando performance by Dustin Hoffman topped off with Madonna is just awesome. The background techniques were ahead of their time with 2D animation.

Amazing film with an amazing cast and I don't mind the Kid and Madonna in it.

Thing is its not really a "kids" movie but got shoehorned into one.

Batman and then the next year this what a great start to the comic book era.

Like I said it was marketed as a kids movie but it really wasn't looking back on it now. I guess if Batman 89 could be a kids movie I see why.

Also Madonna. For a lot of people she ruins the movie.

But thats outweighed by Beatty, Hoffman, and Pacino. This movie could also be Scarface 2 which was also divisive at the time LOL.

It was received pretty damn well from what I remember. It certainly wasn’t a bomb and had marketing out the ass. The problem was it was riding on the coattails of Batman and everyone expected it to do Batman numbers. Even as a 9 year old back then I thought Tracy was lame as fuck compared to Batman (even though I loved the rogues gallery of villains).

The NES game was alright too. Genesis one was better though

Woah I saw this in the theater when it came out. I remember being amazed at the set design. Costume design as well! It really looked like an old comic book.

Haven’t seen it in a long time, good to hear it holds up! Will have to give it another viewing.

Visuals were damn impressive at the time and were Globe and Oscar nominated.

I saw this in theaters. Friends mom took us. They weren’t well to do and I remember she wouldn’t let us get concessions.

Definitely a fun movie with a striking visual style. Some of the most extensive uses of matte painting sin a movie and the color pallet gives surreal look when applied to "reality".

All the weirdo themed villains were a big draw for me at the time. Something fun about the hero taking on these monster villains.

You can tell early cuts of the movie were a lot longer as this movie uses something like 4 separate montage scenes to get in all the story.
