Here's a new thread, as that other one is absolutely toast.

I can't wait to see this thing released in theaters and see the reaction to it.
I wonder if all this publicity will make it any harder for Cohen to do his thing.

So, Sacha Baron Cohen is starring in a film as Borat, and Todd Phillips was, but is no longer, directing. Very interesting. Wonder who he'll be replaced by.Variety says that a creative clash between Old School director Todd Phillips and British comic Sacha Baron Cohen (Da Ali G Show) has prompted the director to drop out of Borat, a documentary-style comedy feature that had just begun shooting.
The low-budget, largely improvised film has a loose storyline in which the Khazakstani immigrant comes to the U.S. on a mission.
The opening footage of the film was enough to test a star-director relationship, says the trade. Borat reportedly got the organizers of a rodeo in Virginia to allow him to sing "The Star Spangled Banner." He did it poorly and made headlines for inciting the rodeo crowd by making inflammatory remarks in support of the war in Iraq.
The makers of the film plan to hire another director and resume filming as quickly as possible.
