Alright, this was the first time I've seen the show. Seems rather cool, love the fight scenes. But damn did Mugen piss me off when he killed that Ogre guy after he had dropped his weapon! Does the series stay at a high quality or peter off?

It's really just a series of different little stories, I think the longest stretch for about 3 episodes. Because of this, SC never really ever let me down/got boring as far as I can remember. Some of the later episodes are just TOO MUCH as well :lol

I'm enjoying the show, but Mugen seems like a real douche thus far.

I kinda find it funny that the less I watch anime, the more the dubs annoy me.

Now that this is on AS, I might keep up with it.

The voices are horrible though. Completely changes the character, not to mention the dialogue. Like when Mugen cuts the dude's hair off in episode one. They messed up the joke, and Mugen's characteristics.

Guy - "Do you understand what I'm saying?"
Mugen - "Nope"

changed to "Nope, not at all". And other stuff like Jin's dialogue about honor with the samurai guarding the leader. Basically changed to "wanna fight idiots?". His voice just doesn't suit him, where as he was perfect before. It's just not the same characters or story I loved.

Would you rather have left it at "Nope" and the character's mouth still moving? :lol

I'm still waiting for the day when they'll just play subbed anime on TV. Then again, I don't even get Cartoon Network or any of this stuff you guys do. But whatever, fansubs FO LIFE!

Is the voice actor of Mugen (dub) the same as Spike from CB? They sound similar, but wasn't sure
Yup.

The dub is pretty good overall. Mugen is the weakest of the bunch, but that's simply because Mugen is virtually impossible to faithfully replicate in English. The voices in general also get noticably better around episode 5 or 6 or so when they finally really settle into character (the dubbing was clearly superior on the second DVD compared to the first).

I'm glad to see Adult Swim is leaving it more or less untouched too. The only edits so far between the first two episodes have been for the word "shit."

Hopefully that means they're going to leave Paranoia Agent well enough alone, outside of the obvious instances of nudity.

And I would say Champloo gets better. The second half is decidedly stronger than the first, but it's a lot of fun all the way through. The worst episodes in the series are probably 2 and 7 (and I guess 12, since it is for all intents and purposes a clip show, albeit a really funny one). So you've already really seen some of the worst Champloo has to offer. :D

I wonder why there aren't more people doing voice talent for anime? I'm getting tired of hearing the same voices over and over again.

No, you're right, I just feel bad because people won't experience the same story I don't think. It'll just feel different. Some of the better voice actors for these characters are just irreplaceable. Like Vash's original voice, or Spike's american voice. But oh well, what can you do.
