Sarah Silverman "Jesus Is Magic" trailer

This has been online for a while, but I thought it warranted its own thread. Anyway, I'm not too familiar with Silverman's stuff, but this is fucking hysterical. Out November 11th, though most of us will probably have to wait for the DVD.

(Unfortunately, this is not the same as the longer trailer which some theaters -- though not the one where I saw it, goddamn it -- are showing before The Aristocrats. That trailer is, quite irritatingly, still not online, as far as I can tell.)
 
I'm at work, so I'm not goint to watch it. Just going to say that the stand-up act I saw of her where she uses the "Jesus is Magic" line is freaking hilarious!!
 
Definitely my favorite female comedian, and she is hot. Definitely see this. Have to support the Mr. Show cast.

She's hilarious. See her live if you have the chance. I usually have a strong dislike for female comediannes, but she's great.
 
Saw her live one night when she just showed up unannounced at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood... She was OK, nothing riotous though. I actually think she's a little overrated, she has never seemed like a real standout comic to me. A couple less-high profile guys at the Knitting Factory were better that night.
 
I dunno, it just seemed like she was just using "shock" comedy, which I only really find funny when it's coming from George Carlin. Although, I don't like female comedians much at all, so that's pretty much another reason that I didn't like the trailer.
 
That last set piece was hilarious. Is her show more about shock "OMG hot chick saying bad things" or is it actually funny?

quoted for truth. she had one interview on Conan once and he was sooo scared the entire time. She was talking about the guy she was dating who was mulatto (is that word pc?) She said something like "Yeah, he was a really good guy except that he's half black." I couldn't believe it... just so funny, and Conan was seriously frightened. He even muttered "oh man, you're gonna get me kicked off the air."
 
She's the one who was on Craig Kilborn, after Kermit the Frog, and she complained that the chair smelled like pig vagina.


She is pretty hot though.
 
Sarah Silverman is the only female comedian who has ever made me break down in tears. As a whole I hate female comics, but she's so fucking funny. I'll upload the clip I have of her on Conan in a little bit so you guys can see what she's like.

Agree on both counts.

She does lean on a lot of shock jokes, but I'd rather take that than whatever else unfunny shit I've heard from female comedians.

I think its because she does nasty shit that guys love yet her material is also good enough that you can't tell its a girl. She's easy on the eyes too so she's got a lot working for her.
 
Why does everyone seem to hate female comics so much? And what's with the generalizing...Admittedly, I don't even know too many female comedians, but it seems pretty silly to say they all suck.

Anyway though, this looks pretty cool. Sarah Silverman is a-ok with me. :)
 
I dunno, I just can't connect with the majority of female comics I've seen. A lot of it has to do with just the differences between genders, and the way a lot of jokes are led out.

As for the video, it's in fucking real media format, and PutFile doesn't support that (I don't blame em). Anyway know of another free video hosting site that does?

If you don't understand the female comic hate, try watching Magaret Cho, Paula Poundstone, or Ellen Degeneres even, though the latter isn't too bad. Just a bit stale like Seinfelds' material.
 
The ugliest thing about her is her comedy. Its crude and disgusting. Especially coming from a woman for some reason...


But she is definately hot.
 
She is pretty good looking, but not in that typical hot girl type of way. She's cute, especially at parts of that trailer. Although I've seen her be funny on TV at times, that trailer uhh.. wasn't very good. I didn't laugh at all during it. :(

It's been repeatedly rumored that Tom Cruise is gay. Who knows (or cares) if it's true, though.
