Her male partner is going to get 100 lashes.

Sri Lanka has urged Saudi Arabia to pardon a domestic worker, sentenced to death by stoning after she admitted committing adultery while working in the Arab kingdom. An official from Sri Lanka’s Foreign Employment Bureau said the married 45-year-old, who had worked as a maid in Riyadh since 2013, was convicted of adultery in August.

This is just disgusting. How does this country still do this in this day and age? Also clearly they're comparable to ISIS in this regard.

Saudi Arabia sounds like the Islamic state that ISIS wants to develop, except that Saudi does business with the west.

Bastards. Yeah, they're comparable to ISIS, Al-Queda, and whoever else throughout the years. They're our enemy in plain sight and they always have been. We were attacked by a gang of Saudi Arabians on 9-11, and took it out on Afghanistan and Iraq. SA is one of the most regressive, abusive places in the world, and they get away with it because of their business ties. The only thing they're vulnerable to is alternative energy sources.

We also sell them fucktons of weapons I think.

Maybe the PR guy for SA who posts on the forums and other GAF members from the kingdom can explain how all of this makes sense.

"Admitted" adultery huh?

Why would you admit to that in a country where the punishment is stoning to death?

deny deny deny

Doesn't this ignore the diversification they've been undertaking over the years? Investments in other projects in other countries, etc.

I really don't buy into the line that as soon as we move past oil, they'll become irrelevant. That paints those in charge as grossly stupid and incompetent and while we'd like to believe that's true, they've done nothing (in business terms) to show they as stupid or lacking in vision of the future where oil may indeed be a product of the past...

Probably raped countless time by her boss and then once someone found out, suddenly it's adultery and she dies and he doesn't. I'm sure they also have "evidence" she seduced him.

This makes me want to vomit.

I can't this type of stuff exists in the modern era.

Not only it is barbaric, but it's misogynistic to the core as I never hear of dudes getting stoned for adultery in SA and this example proves it yet again.

The problem is not just limited to Saudi Arabia.

It's Sharia Law.

There's a GAF user called KingFire. He's a Saudi who won't sugar coat it for you, and he's more eloquent than I'll ever be.

Here's an idea.

In the year 2015, how about we don't throw stones at people until they are dead? I know this idea may be a bit radical, but I truly think society will improve if we do not follow this course of action.

The blatant hypocricy is infuriating. The royals live counter to all Islamic laws themselves, throwing huge parties, drinking, having sex. But they'd never face any kind of punishment themselves.

The insistence on such laws lies more with the Saudi clergy than with the regime. The regime has to pander to the clergy because its power is largely based on its image as upholders of Islam itself and its holiest places. They are Machiavellian hypocrites.

Wish foreigners would stop going to that country. That will be the beginning of change for that place.
There's only 2 reasons why people go to Saudi, work and hadj (ie going to mecca). They pay ridiculous salaries. I've gotten a lot of job offers there but the money isn't worth the lifestyle or fear of living there at all.
