If that's coming to US. That's gonna be my second arcade stick I will ever buy.

I have the Tekken 5 stick. I'm holding onto it until I have an HDTV, and I will have fun with 2D fighters on my PS2.

Very nice!

I have the Hori SC2 stick and it's the best stick I've ever used. I'm scared shitless of the day when I realise that I won't be able to use it on my PS3 :(

Yeah, saw this in my search for the Hori RAP Limited Editions (which look beautiful btw):

I wonder though, for this SC3 stick, does it have the official Sanwa stick like the Japanese RAP or is it like the Hori Tekken Stick, which doesn't. I e-mailed Play-Asia about it and couldn't confirm it for me either way. I'm guessing it's the Tekken stick w/ a new face plate. Still looks quality, and I trust Hori completely, but I needs me some Sanwa for all the Hugo 360's and Gigas I pull off.

wonder why it has the older hori rap layout instead of the special edition and newer rap one (which are similar to the sega arcade cab layouts). didnt the tekken stick use the newer layout? probably still using hori stick and buttons, but who knows for sure right now.

Yeah I noticed that too. My hope is that the older button layout indicates some Sanwa love, but as you said, who the hell knows at this point. Paging ArcadeStickMonk. Paging ArcadeStickMonk.

Play-Asia just got these in I think (didn't see it last week at all):

$149.00. Looks like an X-Mas gift. To myself. "From" my bro. Wife: clueless. :)

The SC2 stick is my favourite. I had the Tekken 5 stick (which the SC3 is) and sold it, it just didn't have as good a stick or buttons for me.

Why is the HRAP2 double the price of the original HRAP on Play-Asia? Limited availability? $150 is too much.

How is the Hori Fighting Stick 2 btw? It's smaller and a tad cheaper.

It sucks.

I bought one in Japan and sold it for like $5 before I left rather than taking it back to the US because it was so worthless. Buttons are terrrrible and the stick is a bit loose.

Avoid.

I got one a year or two back as a second stick to kick around. It's typical hori quality which means it's nice and responsive. You know, completely unlike that Tekken monstrocity that Namco tried to pass as a Hori here in the States.

Sounds like you got a dud.

I dunno, I have a hori VF4 stick and sure it's only got 3 buttons but the build quality on the buttons and the stick is like 20x better than that cheapo one.

I'm not saying the above stick is bad when compared to say...the shitty sticks they sell in the US, but I only buy Hori sticks and that's the worst one I've ever bought by far.
I've been meaning to get a Real Arcade Pro so I can have a stick that's good for fighters with 'more' than 3 buttons, but I've been too poor to pay $100+ lately.

I have a Hori FS2, it's ok. At times, it seems to feel a bit weird though, but for the most part, it's served me pretty well for Vampire Collection and GGXX#Reload. I am looking at buying a RAP2 though, just to see how improved it could be.

As for P-A charging 150 for the RAP2, they're just price gouging us.

HRAP1 uses a Sanwa stick & generic Hori buttons. HRAP2 uses real Sanwa/Seimitsu parts throughout.

I really wish I could come in here and definitively state whether the SC3 Hori has a Sanwa stick or not. But I can't. I've been so busy that I even stopped reading SRK for the past two weeks.

They are calling it the SC3 Real Arcade Pro, and Play Asia is charging the same amount of money for SC3RAP and the original HRAP, so I'd wager that the chances of a Sanwa JLF in there are very good. But I don't know.

If it does have a JLF, then you've got a nice, large PS2 unit with a great joystick in it. 90% of those interested in buying it most likely have SF3 on Xbox Live in mind, and that takes a convertor, which is something that I refuse to use and give guidance on.

Personally, I have my own snobbish reasons for not wanting to use that stick, Sanwa or no, but I doubt many more of you care to hear them. I bears mentioning though, that, as someone very devoted to arcade sticks, I turned my Tekken 5 stick into a HRAP, and I have never - ever used it.

With a JLF inside, the HRAP series is about as good as you can do in an off-the-shelf stick, but they are not the best by any means. Quality parts get you in the door, but versatile functionality wins the night.

Thereby justifying the price tag for me. Great news. :)

Nothing beats the Sanwa for a Hugo fanatic like me. 360's come out as easy as Hadokens. I've recently "mastered" Parry>360. Looks reeeaaalll fucked up. Petrifies opponents. Switch to Alex and get that SAI going. Much fun.
