Scotch drinkers, what do you drink?

I have a horrible, horrible evening ahead of me, a birthday party to which I got roped into going by my girlfriend for a girl who I think is a twit at a place I'll hate. To make it palatable, before I hop on the F train to go to this horrible, horrible evening I started said evening (by myself) sipping at Johnny Gold. Now I am knocking back slugs of Dewar's like I'm headed to the gallows.

It occurred to me to ask my esteemed colleagues at GAF, what scotch do you prefer? I'll include whiskey and bourbon for the sake of curiosity. As mentioned, I break out the gold for enjoyment, and Dewar's (or Jameson's) to get things right.

For me, it's neat, always neat. Please tell me whether you go straight or on the rocks.

I don't drink scotch, but I've poured Glenlivets a many :p Also have a lot of other scotches at work, most notably Bowmore 30 year, you even get a special glass you get to keep if you buy a shot.

One of my old writing professors told me that Laphroaig was the best scotch. I never found out if he was right.

I'll just see what I've got going at the moment:

Penderyn Aur Cymru - the only Welsh whiskey currently being distilled, and incredibly good stuff. You can't get hold of any, but if you could, you should buy it.

Glen Darbach 12yo

Glenmorangie Cellar 13

Tomintoul Speyside 14yo

The Invergordan Single Grain 12yo

Oban 14yo

Aberlour 10yo

Mmmm....

Glenlivet is my preferred Scotch when I'm out at a bar--everything else tends to be overpriced for a shot. At home, I like Macallan and Laphroiag as well.

As far as bourbon--Knob Creek is the way to go.

for cheap stuff...red label, seagram's. but i have developed a taste for single malts over the years so i dont usually drink blends anymore.
so for single malts: macallan 12 year is my whiskey of choice.

I just had some Macallan 12 at the bar last night and I will have to add it to The Dalmore 12 Year as good scotch. Man, I already love this thread.

We've got a few scotches around at my work with the usual guys grabbing Johnnie Walker and 100 Piper's.. but the true scotch drinkers usually either get White Heather, Glenfiddich or occasionally Chivas.

My friend was actually drinking Glenfiddich at the bar last night. He was also talking to a very pretty girl. I think she was impressed by his scotch. He had a very big scotch.
