Scratches on the DS shell

Here's my problem: when I bought my DS, I meant to buy a case. Of course, that I'm telling you I meant to means in reality, I didn't. So now my DS has a whole lot of scratches on the top of the silver shell. Damn Nintendo and their shitty paint (why couldn't they have just made the whole shell out of the black plastic they have on the bottom half?)

Anyone got any ideas how to remove these scratches? Could they be buffed out perhaps? They're pretty minor, and not a big deal, but I'd just prefer it if they were - y'know - not there.

They're there to stay...

I have scratches too, but I've learned to live with them. I actually tossed my DS to catch my two year old nephew that was falling and my poor DS came out of the whole thing with quite a few scratches on the top half. Falling DS + gravel = permascratches.

Yeah, I was thinking about Brasso since I have a can handy. I'm just a little worried that it could fuck up things more.

Use it on a small part to see if it does. If not, well, just got a little scuff.

Yeah, I was on the subway reading a book and didn't realize I left my bag open, when I stood up, all my shit went flying, including the DS.

It was the day after I bought it. It's got like three deep scratches on the top. Pretty noticable, too :(

Mine is scracthed like crazy. I learned to live with it. It still works like a champ, and now I don't have to treat it delicately. So I'm hoping the next DS or DS SP for that matter has a better casing. I throw my DS in my bag, and rest popcicles on it now. I really don't care. As long as its closed. But my little brothers GBA SP hasn't scaratched at all; and he had it for 2 years so far. Maybe its because his SP is blue and my DS is silver.

that's why i dig the Micro.... finally .... finally a handheld console made out of metal to withstand all the crashes and dings, the face/screen is replacable too ---- so you can get rid of scratches in an instand, and get rid of dust that has settled on the screen.

the SP was like the perfect console, but it always had such a shitty paintjob...

can't offer any help, but I've got a tiny hairline crack on my ds by the right speaker.

I see it as an excuse to buy the DS:SP when it appears :-)

I'm far more worried/anal about scratches on the touch screen. It makes playing castlevania ds such a bitter sweet experience...
Gosh I wish I wasn't so ocd about my electronics equipment

I don't have any scratches on the top surprisingly, but I can actually notice a few on the bottom (the black) if I look at in the light. There are a few little nicks when I open it up though. The first one I saw made me go insane because it's on the inside and the outside is the one that's supposed to be scratched up. But once I wrapped my mind around it, I didn't care. :)

Never let a kid use an unprotected (screen protectors) DS.

I had the same problem.

Just get those protective sticker things. I got black and it looks great on top instead of scratches.
