Cinescape reports that a scooper contacted them yesterday explaining that Miramax and its specialty offshoot Dimension Films are developing a number of ideas for possible fruition, some of which are original works while others could be sequels to past Miramax/Dimension films.

"As you probably already know, they're doing a lot of 'em. Lots direct to DVD. And it looks like there is more on the way. There's talk of a new SCREAM movie, heralded by producer Cath Konrad, that's supposed to get into gear next year sometime. What upset me was hearing that it wouldn't be a Kevin Williamson - Wes Craven film. It'll be penned and no doubt directed by some other unnamed hack. OK, so as far as [X] knows, it'll have the original cast in it - but who cares if it isn't Craven?! I think they've been thinking about doing another one for a couple of years and have seen a good bunch of treatments".

... No Craven, no sale. But that series stopped being good after the first one anyway. I guess Campbell and Arquette need some money!

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
Well, at least they're finally recognizing where the series belonged to begin with. :D

I never even saw the third one. The "plot twist" at the end of the second one was sooooo awful.

Scream 3 was worse. They tried a really lame attempt at explaining the actions of all three movies, it just sucked at the end. For some reason I have the dvd...the audio commentary is great though. They talk about all the mistakes and errors that still made it into the film, and just how quickly the movie had to be slapped together.

for some reason when scream came out everyone told me it was a scary movie and should check it out. I prefered Beavis and Butthead Do America. I eventually watched it and thought it was a spoof of horror movies ala Saturday the 14th, same with the second...the 3rd took it's self way to seriously. Now a 4th!?

I bet you the killer is a chimp named suzane :D
