WEBZEN Inc. (NASDAQ: WZEN), a leading global online entertainment developer, publisher and operator, today announced the company has started development of Endless Saga™, a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) for the PlayStation®3 (PS3) computer entertainment system. WEBZEN unveiled a first look at the colorful new MMORPG at the Annual PlayStation Meeting hosted by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ). Produced by WEBZEN’s D-Studio, Endless Saga is slated for release in 2007 for both PS3 Online and PC Online.

“WEBZEN is honored to be among the select group of third-party publishers invited to participate at this year’s Annual PlayStation Meeting,” said Nam Ju Kim, CEO, WEBZEN, Inc. “We’re excited about being one of the first publishers to bring a new online game to the PS3. We look forward to working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment Japan throughout the development cycle to ensure this new fantasy game appeals to MMORPG and PS3 fans everywhere.”

On the event floor, SCEJ provided attendees with a sneak preview of Endless Saga. The crowd was treated to a glimpse of screen shots and a movie trailer highlighting the MMORPG’s innovative gameplay, graphics and creative story and characters.

More details about Endless Saga will be unveiled in future announcements.

I know this press release has been posted before but the screens are new :)

Looks like they already started redoing her ingame model. Doesn't look manly anymore. My interest went down since its a MMORPG, but they might be able to pull off a decent battle system which will get me interested again.

Did they run that screenshot through a filter? It has a very stylised look to it (see the armour etc.)

Looks good. Glad they changed her face. Even if it's just a touched up image, at least they know something was wrong with it.

She looks like scarlett johanssen(in the concept art one.).

and WEBZEN? WTF, it was the first time I ever heard of them was at e3, where they handed out huge bags.

Unless they bring somethin unique, I won't play their games.

Damn, Tig ol bitties. Art is okay, nose *is* little on the large side, but aren't you guys tired of seeing perfect looking people in your games? Why not have some variety? I'm wit it, and you guys should be wit it too. If I was a game I'd hit it fa sho.

I'd give her a sinus infection, yeah

I'm impressed.. she ripped Nightmare's face off, stuck it on her shoulder.. and managed to snag the iron glove right off the hand of the lord of the nazgul. :O

Looks very good, I'm interested. The low-rez vid had me scared for a moment there(talk about loss of detail!!!).

If they can improve the 3d model so as to better match the art... I move it from interesting into Must buy category.

That pic is very nice. It's the lighting...again. Lighting is gonna make or break games this gen IMO. Just throwing more polys at a scene isn't gonna make as big a difference as some nice lighting. That said, I hope they work on the armor a bit more to get it looking more like the illustration. But the screen grab shows a lot more detail that's lost in that crummy vid. But the rest of the trailer wasn't all that impressive anyway. The shadowing under the tree was off. She should have been dappled with light passing through the leaves. A nitpick, but this is the next-gen, dammit. We're allowed to nitpick. Hope the in-game visuals can match up (note: I mean during gameplay and not just cutscenes). PEACE.
