Rebel Wilson. Let me guess... she hates Mondays.

What's up with all these remakes? Still, I'm definitely going to see this in the theater.

Not my favorite songs of Andrew Loyd Weber, and the CG looks weird. I've never really understood the popularity of this particular musical but I've never seen it so..

I have no problem with this but I wouldn't watch it because it just doesn't interest me, personally.

I just don't get the strong reactions from people though.

It's just CATS in 2019.

kinda funny this and Sonic both coming out the same year.

the internet really is bleeding into the real world. all nazis and cat memes.

Cats was popular at first but quickly became almost a meme in the 90s where everybody was making fun of it. It's been a while so people have forgotten.. There's a reason why it was never revisited for decades. I mean it was the butt of pop culture jokes all throughout the 90s.

IDC, although I do wonder why we can't get another film adaptation of Carmen even though it's been 35 years and would probably do really well.

I feel the need to pour battery acid on my eyes...

Add a sex scene between Judi Dench and Ian McKellen and this will be the scariest horror movie of the year.

Never saw the play but heard all the jokes.

This actually looks kinda interesting. The whole cat CGI thing was jarring at first but is kinda cool. I like that the world is sized as if they are actual cats, though the make up+CGI of the cat costumes seems a bit funky. At least I am assuming that its a mix of make up and CGI?

I am not a huge musical fan but this looks kinda stylish. But I don't know the plot or the songs of the movie so I have no idea if this will hold up at all.

I am confident that all sorts of market research studies were launched for this movie, and the response is positive. It's the furry vote that's bringing Sonic and now Cats to theaters.
I am skipping both, but I guess they'll end up selling well.

I've never seen the play nor ever cared to...but really, why use CGI for this? They could have done this with practical effects and makeup and it would look so much better. :messenger_neutral:

I've watched the trailer a few times now and it's strangely growing on me.
I still think it looks like the stuff of nightmares but I actually like that and think it adds to the appeal. I like weird shit though and appreciate when things embrace their weirdness.

Everytime I see this trailer I end up laughing on how bad it looks, I wouldn't see this movie in theaters but most likely down the road in 8k.

really weird shit man, day 1

and by day 1 i mean prolly never, i don't even wanna see this on my youtube feed

You know, if your planned movie revival of an unremarkable musical somehow winds up creating unintended nightmare fuel of this level, maybe just back down and don't release it after all? Didn't Pet Sematary teach us anything?!

Faces are looking a bit better although that might be a placebo effect but the rest of the trailer actually looks worse than the first.

So the movie is getting universally destroyed.

many calling it the worst movie in years. Apparently it's completely non-sensical unless you're familiar with the play and just extremely bizarre moments throughout

Clearly, they needed to have visible buttholes, either through post-production cgi or practical effects on the costume. They lost the furry fetish crowd, by leaving that out.

Apparently, Universal is "still working" on the film and a "new cut" with "improved visual effects" will be delivered to theaters soon.

Opening weekend only pulled in 6 million bucks. Ouch.

Who could have predicted that in these polarized times that hatred of the cinematic abortion that is 'Cats' would be the catalyst uniting the world?
