SDCC2014 | Nintendo Challenge: Live @ SDCC & Smash 3DS Tournament

Well, it's safe to say it's achieved cult status, but it was a financial disappointment for Kyoto Animation, as far as I can tell. But this isn't even tangentially related to Nintendo's Comic-Con stuff (unfortunately!).
This Nintendo of America tweet is, though. You can tell that a lot of people had a really good time.

You're right, I'm getting off-topic!

So were those Smash T-Shirts free to anyone that dropped by a booth? I like 'em.

I didn't get to watch much today, but I want a monthly series of Treehouse vs Smash Community on Twitch.

It was only fun because no player destroyed the others. If they do Treehouse vs Smah Community and someone like mew2king plays, its not going to be fun at all. Because, in that case, the smash community player would win easily and would also probably exploit the defensive nature of the game.

I really enjoyed this today. I really liked the dark side of Krysta. (More of that on Nintendo Minute please.)

Good stream today. I liked the informal challenges. But something struck me while I watched today. A lot of the "challenges" the treehouse crew set for themselves were like achievements. Seems like Nintendo gets the idea of mini-challenges within their games, so you'd think formalizing and organizing them into player profiles them would be the next step.
Or you know, event matches or the checklists.
Races didn't count and most were just bet this and that in under a time limit.

I love event matches, I hope they expand on those with this, even just rotating or simple updates. It adds variety and helps you look at new situations.

But overall I think this was a fun event, barring a few cringe worthy celebrities. It did it's job: hyping the game and showing off other titles. As someone said earlier, I really think Nintendo should do these events more frequently. They bring hype and help build the communities.

Okay, maybe if one of the Smash gods is playing, then it's a 2v1. I just think they should do this more. It's fun. I'd watch TrinTran vs Plup or JC vs aMSa.

.
Nothing particularily evil she just ripped on lot of the people doing the challenges, a lot

Corey: I feel like I shouldn't be smack talking right now.

Krysta: Is it because you kept losing everything all day?

She was cold-blooded in her smack talk. I like her!

Ha, I missed most of that greatness, then. I really like the back and forth between a lot of the Treehouse gang. It's the kind of smack talk you reserve for those you truly love.

This just popped up on my Twitter stream:

It was different from Treehouse Live @e3 and I think prefer Treehouse, but know why it can't be replicated.

The idea for challenges was cool, and I hope they patch in like a marathon mode for NES Remix 1/2, that seemed like a blast. Could have leaderboards based on time.

And it would be cool if it became a series, like Nintendo staff trying to accomplish fan challenges or something.

I don't know if any of this will result in additional sales, but I'm glad to see Nintendo (or any company) interacting with its fans.

Is the second day stream available as a whole yet? Unfortunately, I couldn't see anything yesterday, but I had a good reason, I swear
I'M A WIIU OWNER TOO,NOW!!! :P

P.s. Any data about max amount of concurrent viewerrs for both Day 1 and Day 2?

Day two is now up on YouTube.
Still, if you want the highest quality, 60 fps recordings, Twitch is where you need to watch it. There's no telling how long it'll stay up on there, though. :(

As far as the amount of concurrent viewers, throughout day one (going off of memory), I saw anywhere varying from around 12,000-15,000 before the technical difficulties for the tournament were sorted out, to over 30,000 concurrent by the end of the tournament. For the second day, I was in and out, so I'm not entirely sure, but when I saw it, the viewer count was jumping from 12,000 to 16,000, so I have no idea how accurate Twitch's concurrent live viewer counter is, anyway. Sorry I can't be any more specific or informative, Mpl90. :(
