Sea Of Stars confirmed for PS4/5

Nice.
Was going to pick it up for Switch but if Ps5 is an option I'll probably go with that.

Art looks good and the composer is Yasunori Mitsuda?

wtf

They are calling him a "guest composer" so I imagine he will compose some of the track but not the entire OST.

Feel like at this point only a matter of time before Xbox ports are announced, as well. Either way, I'm in! Excited to see how it turns out.

Is this the one that got delayed? I know it has Yasunori Mitsuda music behind it and being a turn-based RPG is almost a must to me. Not preordering, but I'm certainly getting it Day 1.

Super NES nostalgia is kicking my ass right now ... this is going to force me to go out and buy a switch, isn't it? Hoping it eventually lands on xbox as I don't want to buy one of the current Switch iterations.

Can't believe how great it looks, turn-based battles, zoomed out over-world, Chrono Triggers visuals, amazing colorful pixel art, nice music, just perfect. 👌

Looks cool. I'm hoping there are more party members. The mix n' match aspect of Chrono Trigger was one of my favorite parts, with the various combo skills.

All these games now....show you characters walking or running. No hint of what a story could be, just walking and running. Or standing. A bit of combat then more running. Can't be bothered.

And again....where are the next gen 2023 games and flying cars I should be having? I should be in VR and calling into work because I got beat up in a boxing game and need to recover.

But no, back to the point. I'm personally tired of retro love letters and all that.

And that's ok. You just need to realize that not every game will be made to fit your tastes/demands. There are people like me that are happy that this game is being made, especially for an handheld console that can't run demanding games.

Besides, these are usually developers with low budget or experience, they probably wouldn't be able to create the "massive" visual experience that you're craving for.

What the hell are you even talking about?

This is the same developer who made The Messenger. The writing in that game is great, and it didn't even need to be. I fully trust them with the story and writing. Not all retro games are on the same level of quality, but they've already proven that they do great work.

Games take 3-5 years to make and 100+ million dollars. I finished CP2077 the other day and the credits went on FOREVER.

So yeah triple A JRPGs that push the envelope are dead as a dodo. PlayStation 2 was the peak.
