It's a bold strategy, trying to leech off the userbase you so openly tried to kill. Then again Microsoft have always been bold.

Welcome to the Xbox ecosystem, new friends.

As phaedrus pointed out. Bond's philosophy is any hole is a vagina. So....So any old Microsoft account is the Xbox ecosystem now?
Wasn’t that interested to have to jump through an unnecessary corporate hoop to play a game.
Of course it is. Cross play and cross progression should be optional to engage in.Hardly ‘unnecessary’ in this case…
It’s a MMO in a shared world.Of course it is. Cross play and cross progression should be optional to engage in.
Engagement about to sky rocketWill that increase the XBL accounts counts they share?

Everyone acting like this is new and exciting info when it was pretty much a given because of Minecraft (y'know, one of the highest selling games of all time), it's not just targeted at you. This is just a stupid thread is all. Can't forget something I didn't know, now can I?

It's the mark of the beast don't do it.
Yup. And this is just the foot in the door. Duty will likely require one too. Then one day (years from now) you will need to pay a separate fee to play Duty online, on a PS6.Interesting. I was curious if Sony was going to allow this or not.

I see what you did there!I wonder if Halo Infinite will?

Yes and is nothing new… But console warriors needs to act.Don’t a lot of multi platform games require an account to play?
more like loose holePhil's loophole.
Yeah, if this was a single player game it would be noteworthy but having an account with the publisher for cross play in an MMO is normal these days.Sure, but the last time I played Minecraft Microsoft didn't own it. Could be true for a lot of others. I dunno. Just don't think its that big a deal.
You can. you just can’t update any game. You can play entirely offline if you want. And no very little amount of games require a day 1 patch to go from beginning to end.i have to have a sony account just to use my damn playstation, when i should just be able to play whatever disc I stick in there.
Everyone should.I'm looking forward to logging into my Microsoft account and getting Platinum in Starfield.
I would imagine it would. That’s how Minecraft on Switch worked. You log into Xbox Live and the achievements popped up twice, once for Xbox and once for Switch.Does that me trophies and achievements in one foul swoop
I hate these things. Downloaded and was going to play Immortals Fenyx Rising when it was on game pass but it wanted some Ubisoft sign-in. That’s fine. Deleted. Wasn’t that interested to have to jump through an unnecessary corporate hoop to play a game.

Microsoft is going to consider these "sign up" from PS5 as xbox userbase,
just to make an account could be a deterrent to play a game.crying about having to just make a throwaway email account
Phil's 5D chess move worked. PS players are now Xbox players.
