Anyone with downtown knowledge know any parking tips for going to GameWorks? I'm probably just gonna stop at a park and ride and bus in but I'm curious if theres anything more convenient.

Aside from street parking, Pacific Place might be your best bet. It's reasonably priced, to my recollection.

There's underground parking right next door to the Gameworks and Regal.

Thanks for all the suggestions I'm gonna have to try driving in sometime. I went to GameWorks for weekly fighting game stuff so I could get beat up at Tekken, had a blast.

So annoyed with FedEx; they "delivered" a package to my house but ... didn't. After being lied to repeatedly finally got someone on the phone that acknowledged the GPS tracing on the package shows it was left on a doorstep a half mile or so away. They didn't tell me this until 9:30 last night; I went to the area today after work and there's a cluster of houses on different streets that it could have been delivered to since their GPS is just guessing an address anyways; I knocked on one door and they said they didn't get it.

Their policy is apparently "Well gosh, the driver might try to go get it in the next 24 to 48 hours." I'm so confused by that; I reported it within a couple hours and they deliver until like 9 at night.. why wouldn't this be a priority? lol

Considering whoever received it could have easily brought it to me or left it outside, I seriously doubt I'll ever see it.

I dunno man, we got a package for the house around the block the other day and just dropped it on their porch the next evening when we had a moment, it might be there when you get home today

This is closer to a normal summer. Last 2-3 years were freak accidents.

Thank goodness. I heard horror stories about the heat last year (just moved here in March). I'm quite liking this -- it's sunny enough for rooftop shenanigans on the weekends, but still cold/rainy enough to remind me one of the major reasons I moved to Seattle in the first place. Meanwhile, my old coworkers are burning up in 90F+ weather in the South Bay. I do not envy them one bit.

The heat doesn't come until August.

Seattle gaf, I been here for about 8 months and my lease in the U district is about up thank god. I work in the U village mall and need a new place that feels like a home i.e. 500sqft+. What's my best bet? Max I can do is about $1200 and would like lower since I am the only one working at the moment. Rent seems to have gone up even more since I got here.
You're fucked, I'm sorry dude.

The waitlist for low-income housing is years long at this point.

You could look north, maybe... Northgate, Mountlake Terrace... maybe Lynnwood?

Long story short: you can work here, but don't expect to live here. Rich NIMBY homeowners are really pressuring the city council to stay away from true densification. (The current upzones are happening in already dense districts.) Without a seachange in voting demographics here (guess who the primary voting constituency is, by a country mile?) nothing will ever get done.

I'm a standalone homeowner and my neighborhood (Green Lake urban village area) is densifying like crazy which doesn't bother me at all. What does bother is the lack of parking for these new units and developers not offering low income units for people.

Aside from some of the crummy rain this weekend, I've been all about this weather the last few weeks and I'm totally on board with it being this way for the rest of the summer.

Just moved into a new place and have been furnishing it the last few weeks (4 trips to Ikea in 3 weeks - the worst), really glad the weather has been cooperating.

Anyone in here into competitive fighting games? I'm trying to pick up Tekken and Injustice, kinda scrubby at Melee and 4 but they're still. Trying to find people to practice with.

Either works I guess but I'm definitely trying to get more into whatever local communities are out there for fighting games.
I would PM Shouta. Last I checked he's in the Seattle area and helps with some tournaments now and then. I'm sure he could guide you in the direction of some meetups.

I would go to more meetups but I have $3 to my name atm

Shouta would a good resource. I think he's still up in the Northgate neighborhood.

WHY IS IT STILL WINTER?

It's a bummer but reading the detail, and listening to the audio of the incident itself, she needed mental health support and didn't have it. The cops genuinely started with a soft helpful attitude and even checked to see if she had a mental health flag. I wish our paths of escalation didn't require guns, but this isn't rogue officers going off half cocked.

I would do anything to go back to Hawaii. I was very sick on my one trip there and didn't really get to enjoy it at all. But it was so beautiful.

I was there for 5 days four years ago but I remember every sight and sensation so clearly and vividly. I wanna go back really badly too.

111 and rain. In the desert. I don't even know what that's like.
