Damon Lindelof (JJA's partner) says about the monster "We know and we promise by the end of the first year, the audience will know a little more". (a LITTLE more? DARN)
The article goes into "secrets".
Number 1 is that Matthew Fox (Jack) likes to be naked. I'm not gonna argue with that.
2 is that nobody is going to have a huge weight loss.
3 is that Charlie's song was inspired by a woman on Maury Povitch's talk show.
4 is that the character of Jack was originally killed in the first ep but his part was re-thought. Now it gets interesting.
Secret #5 "The bear truth may lie in a comic book"
"Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed a picture of a polar bear in the comic Walkt was reading in Episode 2. Is there a connection between that and the bear the castaways inexplicably encounter and kill on the island? 'All I can say is, every prop is absolutely intentional' Lindelof says. The comic is actually a spanish translation of "Green Lantern/Flash:Faster Friends" Part 1 which chronicles the superheroes' attack on an alien taht turns out to be peaceful. Says Abrams 'We definitely chose that story for a reason'."
Secret #6 "Things are about to get a lot more complicated"
"In the Oct 27 Ep, Sun...reveals that she speakes English and intended to leave Jin the day of the plane crash." We will also see Charlie attempt to kick his drugs with Locke's help on Nov 3. Sayid will get closer to learning the origins of the 16-year-old French message.
Secret #7 "The castaways may actually be dead and stranded in an island purgatory"
"At least that's one theory that has fans buzzing, though, naturally, Abrams will neither confirm or deny." (Although he does admit that as a viewer he'd be theorizing the same) "However, Evangeline Lilly says "I have a scene in the seventh ep where Sayid says 'How is it possible we survived?' And I say 'So, what? We're all dead?' I put that out there as an impossibility."
Secret #8 is about Kate's betrayal by the farmer with the prosthetic arm and the marshall chasing her being an homage to "The Fugitive".
Secret #9 is the fact that the letters on Charlie's fingers keep changing (which Dominic Monaghan also does in real life)
And Secret #10 "There may be a rhyme and reason to who survived the plane crash"
"Lindelof hints that destiny is a recurring theme to be found in LOST. 'These people's lives may have intertwined before they all got on that plane in ways that they themselves are not aware,' he says. 'It gives complete purpose as to why we're telling two different storeies, one that happened before the crash (through flashbacks) and one that happens after.'

Someone I know has been watching Lost in HDTV zoom frame (nerd!) and found that everyone's watches have been frozen in time. They are all frozen at 3:15 (I imagine p.m.) - even in the night scenes when there is a little bit of light. Time must somehow be of the essence.

Still More:
Rumor says that the island is home to a French Biological research facility that was in operation back in the 1980s. Something went wrong and the reseach has caused mutations that became uncontrolable. Folks are saying that Locke has been there before as he is always calm and knows about the island.
Hmmmm....interesting, isn't it?
