See my revolution idea.

Nightbringer

Don´t hit me for my bad english plase
Is very simple.

Is a normal control pad, with its buton, D-pad, analog sticks and other things that a contemporany gamepad has.

The only difference is that in this control pad we have an IR sensor. With the IR sensor we can do moves with the stylus in the air in front of the control pad and the IR sensor can translate it to commands for the game.

What do you think about the idea?

Is good, is bad or is impossible to do in the reality?

Is it monday already?

Anyway, this has been pretty much my theory for the 'revolution' since the very beginning. Nothing too simple or complicated. Perfect for FPS and, for example, move Link's sword in a much more realistic way.

Holy shit i wish i'll never have to "swing" my controller to use Link sword. Worst idea ever.

No, the idea is not moving the control pad.

The idea is to put an IR sensor in the control pad and use an stylus with IR emissor on it.

The idea is moving only the stylus, not the control pad.

That's totally cool dude and they already have that technology from the NES system and those IR sensor conrollers that failed back then. You should totally post that on the Nintendo forums so you all can talk about it. :)

IR is a poor tech for movement tracking. You'd essentially need a receiver that was nothing but a wall of IR receivers to translate the movement of the controller. And the IR transmitter would be subject to being covered by hands or the beam broken by people passing in front of it, since IR is a line of sight method.

How about a controller you hook up TO YOUR MIND and control every action by thought! REVOLUTION!

One thing we can be sure about is that whatever new idea Nintendo has for their controller, it will not be as revolutionary or as impressive as it might seem right now. :)

It would be cool if the Revolution does not even use controllers: no way for players to actually play the videogames.

"cool game! hey, where are the controllers? i want to play"
"there are no controllers - you are playing! REVOLUTION!"
"..."

That would be pretty revolutionary....or, it would at least make game developers' jobs much easier.

You know a lot of people here probably wouldn't even notice a difference...
