According to the Japanese sports newspaper Hochi Shimbun, SEGA is currently developing an unannounced golf game for the PS3 launch. It features Ai Miyazato, an LPGA professional female golfer born in 1985, and her 2 older brothers who are also professional golfers. The game will be completed as early as this Spring. A SEGA spokesperson says the details will be announced later, but the shoot for a TV commercial of the game was already completed according to the sources. The article is scarce of the details of the game except that it features very realistic golf wear...

Yeah, it does seem odd to pitch a game against such a juggernaut. A 'realistic' golf game, with its affordable character model budgets (not really much else to draw in golf) could really fall foul of uncanny valley too. :/

Probably a Revolution title. Even with only the three times the power of a GC they could get a pretty good looking fishing game in 720p I would believe. And with the Revmote you know, it's made for this type of stuff.

Well it's not definitely ready for spring, but they are planning that way for now. They're using Ai Miyazato for branding and they'll make tons of cash off that alone. The cynic inside me thinks it's just a nice money-earning licensing deal and the game won't be all that.
