Sega Super-Scaler classics!

A great video showcasing some of Sega's 80s and early 90s hits with their sprite scaler games, some of which could have easily come out on the Sega/Mega CD or Saturn....(and been arcade perfect too!)

Saturn sure, but Genesis and even Sega CD would be just a straight up NO.

That being said, a Sega CD version of Outrun and other simpler super scaler games would have been great to see! but sega of america wanted their @%#$%%%# full motion video titles.

all of these games are terrific tech show cases , amazing how sega fucked its self in the ass despite having their OWN cutting edge arcade hardware

Who knew it would take Sega 10 years to make a close-to-arcade perfect port of Outrun on the home-consoles....otherwise I think their CD-add on could have done the game justice...

Should have included Slipstream, the only non Sega game on their System 32 platform and possibly the best looking one too, such smooth spritework makes it look almost full 3D.

How close could a Saturn conversion get to this? Seeing as it was Sega's 2d powerhouse in the home-market at the time..

The fonts on that is straight up out of Die Hard Trilogy on PS1

Makes you wonder why they didn't just downgrade the model 2 hardware and put that in the saturn instead of the goofy shit they pulled with the hardware.

they kept making the same mistake and only realized it before the dreamcast , but by then it was too late

Sure but in 1995, after stuff like Ridge Racer and Daytona USA, it wasn't going to impress anyone.

That Saturn may have had a decent port of this with the RAM cart. There would have been compromises otherwise,

With the right programmers who know their Hitachi Assembly, sure, no problem. A Saturn translation would probably run at 30fps, but beyond that, I can't see why this couldn't come home.
