While millions of customers benefited from $20 sports games from Sega and Take-Two this year, the party may not necessarily last indefinitely. Reuters news service reports from the UBS Media Week Conference that Take-Two is looking to kick prices up to the premium level once the next generation of consoles arrives.
"We continue to evaluate pricing," said Executive Vice President Cindi Buckwalter. "When the next-generation hardware comes out, we do expect to introduce the sports products at premium prices."
Whether Take-Two will maintain the budget price points for next year's sports games on PlayStation 2 and Xbox remains an open question.
