Sell your DS

And get a blue one.

Seriously. I played around with the silver ones at launch, but only got my DS a couple of months ago. I'm so glad I waited.

Playing my friend's silver DS again was a terrifying experience.
I can't believe anyone ever thought it looked good. It just feels cheap. The plastic is just one touch too sparkly to look like a viable piece of hardware.

BONUS POINTS:

Virtual Boy 2 indeed.

Yes, the Electric Blue one is much easier on the eyes. When that came out the same week as the free Mario 64 DS deal, and Kirby had recently been released, it was enough to convince me to take the plunge.

The correct answer is:

"...and wait for the DS SP, featuring the ZOMG GBA SP v.2 screens and probably other cool stuff."

I have a blue PokePark edition one in addition to silver. Silver just seems to suck on the DS for some reason, while the Platinum GC edition looks very nice.

i had 2 blue ones (both had stuck pixels so i returned them) and i still prefer the silver ds.

it looks sleeker?

i think the red one looks awesome though.

I'm thinking about getting my fiance the blue one for Christmas. I have a platinum. It'll make it easier to tell which one belongs to who if they're left in the same room.

And now, time to use my laziness in creating a new topic and vear this thread into another direction.

Pink DS, where can I find one in Canada? My friend is looking for one but she's only finding the teal nintendogs one. I heard Toys R Us had them but i'm not sure if that was in Canada or in the US.

that's what I'm hodling out for, BUT if that doesn't have sooner or later I'm really not going to have the willpower to holdout.

Which DS looks better? The blue one posted in the pic above or the teal one that comes in the Nintendogs bundle. I was going to get the Mariokart bundle until I noticed the system was red and white instead of Virtualboy red and black.

Huh? I thought it's the red and black one from Japan just bundled with Mario Kart?

Yeah... it's red and black...

...OR just wait for N!N to redesign the DS in general. I still fucking hate it's design.

Realistically speaking, what could they change? It already has a clamshell design, and there's no reason to make the top screen bigger.

I'm no fan of the current design either, but the DS is so unique that I'm really curious as to what they can actually do to it.

Eh, they'll just make it smaller and sexier. Maybe add an SD slot so you can download DS demos with Revolution or something like that.

my LCD cracked on one of mine (hint.. don't accidentally leave it on the floor). my brother is paying the $57.50 to Nintendo to get it fixed and I just bought the woman a teal nintendogs bundle.. much better, and more subtle than the electric blue.

IMHO purple GBC and original blue GBASP are the two nicest looking handhelds ever released.. GBC for the classic and GBASP for the modern.

They could always remove the headphone jack.

Isn't the SP v.2 screen just the DS screen?

EDIT -

Hehe, good one.

This question comes up far too much. Do you guys even pay attention to gaming news?

The electric blue color is butt ugly, and the silver ain't that nice either. Pink & Teal for the win.

DS screen is naturally smaller than the GBA/SP screen.

SPv2 has a much brighter screen than DS, and has 2 brightness settings. But the drawback is that there is some motion blurring. Even though the Micro presumeably uses the same technology, I haven't heard any reports of the blurring on it.

Colored ones are ugly because they offset the color balance of what's on the screen.

Grey or black 4 lyfe

us brothers have to stick together

I see. Thanks. Curious as to why they didn't just use the same technology for both.

No, there are some great comparison pics floating around that came up in some earlier threads. DS -> SP v.2 is almost like original GBA -> SP v.1. It's a substantial difference.

The DS' library is getting better and better, but I can wait for the eventual redesign (although obviously I hope it comes more sooner than later -- E3 plzkthx nintendo). I probably would be waiting anyway, because I'm a CAG and I wouldn't be buying any of this stuff for full price anyhow.
